Biography to the Extreme- Marc Lemoi If not for Marc Lemoi, chances are that most of us never would have gotten into paintball. We would not know the thrill of stalking and being stalked. We would never feel the immense euphoria of making an elimination or the excitement of being caught in a firefight, hearing paintballs wizzing past our head. Marc was the person that initiated four of his friends into paintball and was the catalyst that brought about the Second Paintball Generation. Marc has two guns: the Tippmann Pro-Carbine and the Brass Eagle Stingray II. He masks are the JT X-Fire and Brass Eagle. He is known for taking his mask of during a firefight because “it impairs his vision.” Marc introduced Kris Linton, Dave Salazar, Eric Gubich and Craig Buller to paintball in September of 2000. Not long after, they all bought markers of their own and became the Second Paintball Generation |

Paintball Glossary Preparation Area- As the name might suggest, this is the area where players get ready before a game. It is also where players go after they have been shot. Crack Shack- a shack on the right side of the DF, near the middle. This was once water (and paintball) tight, but has since been destroyed and rebuilt twice. It is again destroyed, but there are indefinite plans to rebuild it again. The Crack Shack was often used in games in which one team was the Drugs Lords and had to defend the shack. The other team, known as the ATF, would have to attack the shack and eliminate all Drug Lords. The Meadow-A small clearing on the right side of the Crack Shack Trail. There are two bunkers in the meadow. Above the meadow is the Tire Castle. Beyond the Meadow’s upper left corner is Ben’s Tree House. Ben’s Tree Fort- A small tree fort built by Ben Buschi., it is located beyond the meadow’s upper left corner on the right side of the forest. A word of caution to those who attempt to use it! Ben’s Tree Custom Dark Forest Products Barry Schippang and Mike Whildin, of Dark Forest fame, are now offering custom parts for paintball. And, unlike Global, we know that grinding isn’t the answer to everything. If you have any questions or would like to schedule some maintenance to the extreme, call Dave Salazar @ 867-1371 / 694-0428 or Mike Whildin @ 865-5939 Hunter/Hunted Here is Garrett’s idea for a new game: X # of colored arm bands. Red goes after orange, orange goes after yellow, yellow to green, green to blue, blue to violet, violet to red. You have to shoot the people in order, so it’s like a predator and a prey. After red kills orange he moves onto yellow etc. until it’s a 1vs 1 duel and the last man standing wins. It could be made with teams of 2 also. Back Issues Back issues of the Dark Forest Times are available from Dave Salazar at the price of one nickel, or free of charge if you’ve ever played paintball at the Dark Forest. Submissions If you would like to submit an article, classified ad, question or perchance even a comment drop it off in Room 202 or give it to Dave Salazar. Receive 1 paintball for every 7 words that are printed. |

Marc feels that playing paintball without a mask is even more exciting and gives him an adrenaline rush to the extreme. In fact, he suggests that all players should play without masks. However, since you’re not as durable as Marc, wear your mask. On one occasion in the winter of 2000, Marc and Eric were attacking Barry, who was the only player left on his team and running low on CO2. Marc and Eric were both getting ready to charge Barry, who was polishing his glasses, which had fogged. Marc also had his mask off because they had fogged. Marc and Eric both planned to rush Barry on count of three. Barry had put his glasses back on and was preparing himself for the charge. Marc requested no head shots because he wasn’t wearing a mask. The count of three came and found Eric remaining behind his tree, leaving the charge solely up to the unmasked Marc. Barry calmly looked out from around his tree, aimed his Pro-Carbine at Marc and shot him in between the eyes. Marc, who had been running up towards Barry flipped backwards and landed on his back. No doubt because of this event, Marc chose to upgrade from his Stingray II to a Tippmann Pro-Carbine. Essential Paintball Skill- Crawling Now that Spring has arrived at the Dark Forest, it is possible to incorporate an important paintball skill into your game. With the added foliage on the sides of the field, crawling has become effective once again. By crawling you can now bypass the main enemy force and attack from behind, taking out the lot of them in one fell swoop! While this tactic will get you killed if not properly executed, with some skill, you can eliminate 2/3 of the adversary like Dave Salazar, the paintball guru. While this article explains nothing about crawling, it will now tell you that you can learn how to become an excellent crawler by talking to expert player like Barry Schippang or Nelson Fonseca, but not Robert Griffith who had no idea of how to control his velocity.
