Hi, another day another dollar, the stock market continues to clime. Does Clinton have anything to do with it? Are you for real if you say yes? NOT!! And not to say the republican congress deserves all the credit. Although a good case can be made that a conservative congress has brought more stability and a balanced budget. Balancing the budget has kept interest rates moving down and everyone knows that the stock market loves lower interest rates. But the real credit goes to those that make the economy roll, create the new technologies, and buy and sell on a daily basis. Well, that has been happening for thousands of years, what makes this different you say!? At times things are better than at other times. We are building off the more positive Reagan years. Reagan tax cuts and the end of the cold war; the end of our enemy the communist Soviet Union. We now have one of the greatest inventions in the history of mankind-the computer chip. This has led to this great economic times which began in the early 1980's; August 1982 would be my best guess. Oh yea, what did government have to do with this economic boom times? Little beyond keeping the country free from foreign threat. And governments have been doing THAT for thousands of years! If the government gets out of the way the economy will continue on a growth path never seen in history for the next 1000 years. |
