0.6 -- Pass under Georgetown Pike
0.8 -- Wade across ford at parking lot
1.1 -- Wade across ford
1.15 -- Kennels on north side
1.2 -- Pass under Old Dominion Dr.
1.3 -- Wade across ford
2.0 -- Cross Leigh Mill Rd.
2.2 -- Side trail to Brian Jac Rd.
2.6 -- Wade across ford (a fair-weather crossing is expected to be built here in 1999)
3.3 -- Side trail to restrooms and water at Colvin Run Mill, .1 mile
3.35 -- Cross Leesburg Pike (Route 7) at Carper’s Farm Way
3.5 -- Left at wooden posts, 45 degree angle into new woods
3.9 -- At three-slat fence, right onto gravel road
4.3 -- Cross Brown’s Mill Road, on bridge over Difficult Run
4.3 -- right on asphalt path. Stay right.
4.5 -- right on crushed gravel trail toward Dulles Toll Road
4.6 -- cross under Dulles Toll Road
4.8 -- cross Difficult Run on "fair-weather crossing", continue on gravel
5.0 -- hard left turn below first houses on right; cross stream
5.3 -- ascend bluff on gradual incline
5.8 -- athletic field
5.9 -- right on W&OD
6.2 -- cross Hunter Mill Road
6.6 -- cross Buckthorne Lane
6.7 -- left on dirt path, down hill
6.8 -- cross foot bridge #43 (Reston Association)
7.2 -- ascend earthen dam; cross dam
7.25 -- cross foot bridge #44 (Reston Association)
7.6 -- ascend hill to view Twin Branches Drive and Lake Audubon in Reston
