Twain has been keeping a low profile, aside from an appearance at the Country Music Association awards last November. But this week she will be a guest judge on "American Idol" during the Chicago auditions, and she has reached out to fans by posting a personal letter and video travelogue on her Web site. Reba McEntire hopes this will mark Twain's reemergence onto the scene. McEntire says "the country music industry is ready for Shania Twain to come back, definitely." Twain's marriage to Lange fell apart following his alleged affair with the manager of the couple's chateau in Switzerland.

From HelloMagazine.com: She marked her 40th year with a huge bash at the weekend, and there are more birthday treats in store for Jennifer Aniston as she celebrates her milestone birthday on February 11 with her musician beau John Mayer. Going one better than serenading his love with Happy Birthday, the singer/songwriter has apparently penned a track to mark Jen's big day. And that's not all. If reports are to be believed he's planning to pop the question to the "Marley & Me" star, who was presented with a birthday cake by chat show host Ellen DeGeneres during an appearance on her show last week. While there's been no confirmation on whether John's song contains the words "Will you marry me?", in the past he has said: "I think I'd be pretty good at proposing... I'd get creative." On Saturday (Feb. 7) the couple danced the night away at a star-studded party Jennifer threw at her Beverly Hills home. Guests included the birthday girl's "Friends" co-star Courteney Cox Arquette and her actor husband David Arquette, Tobey Maguire, singer Shania Twain and Tom Hanks and his other half Rita Wilson.

A: John, for two years the word from
Shania Twain's label has been "new music, perhaps this year." But, then Shania
had to deal with the breakup of her marriage to her producer Robert John
"Mutt" Lange. Shania showed up at the CMA Awards last year and said it herself,
that she's working on new music and looking forward to releasing it soon.
How soon? Maybe this year (but we've heard that before). Let's hope it is
this year.
• 2/4/09 Shania In Us Weekly. As mentioned yesterday, Shania is in the February 16 issue of Us Weekly. On the cover, there is a small picture of Shania in the upper-right corner with the caption: Hot New Love. Click HERE for the cover. I'll post a scan of the article as soon as possible.

Tonight Canada," an un-named source who is close to Shania quoted to
Us magazine regarding Shania's relationship with Frederic Thiebaud:
"Shania is very happy. They are not living together
but they have been travelling alot. They obviously have shared feelings and

***On a side note, Canada's "eTalk Daily" is reporting Shania is in this

• 2/1/09 New "Pre-Shania" CD - March 24. According to MTV, VH1, CMT and AOL, there is a new Shania album titled The First Time...For The Last Time scheduled to be released on March 24. However it looks like it's another one of those "pre-Shania" CDs like Send It With Love (same Renaissance label), Beginnings or The Limelight Sessions. You can pre-order The First Time...For The Last Time from CD Universe.
• 1/22/09 UPDATE! No New Music Coming Soon. From Country Weekly: Record label says no new album from Shania Twain coming soon. Although several sources revealed on Wednesday, Jan. 21, that Shania Twain will make an announcement about a new album during the latter part of the week of Jan. 26, a spokesperson from her record label, Mercury Nashville, contacted Country Weekly magazine late on Thursday, Jan. 22, to say that there would be no announcement of new Shania music any time soon. Obviously, Shania's legion of fans--and the Country Weekly staff--are still hopeful that it won't be too long before she releases a new CD. But, for now, we will all have to wait for the label's announcement. Shania recently remarked that she has been busy writing songs for a new record. "That's consuming a lot of my time right now," she noted. Shania added that she was working especially hard on lyrics, because "I want to be as true to myself as possible." This past year, Shania split from her husband and producer Robert John "Mutt" Lange after 14 years of marriage. We are only about three weeks away from what I'm hearing is the big announcement
from Shania Twain. We told you guys a few weeks ago about that day we had
10+ emails about this so called annoucement and we had no clue why. Well
it seems like it may just have been something after all. My sources are telling
me that we can expect an announcement soon with details regarding the new
album that MAY have a spring release date! Not much longer to wait.
*** On a side note, this morning a radio station in Georgia reported
that the new album will be released in May.
• 1/7/09 Shania Sends Flowers To Travolta Family. During last night's "Access Hollywood," it was reported that John Travolta and his family returned to their home in Ocala, Florida where flowers are being sent after the tragic passing of John's son Jett last week in the Bahamas. The only name mentioned who sent flowers was Shania Twain! Shania and John have been friends for many years.
