Yule (Winter Solstice, December 20-23)
Yule is a Wiccn festival celebrated on or about December 21st,marking the rebirth of the Sun God from the Earth Goddess. A time of joy and celebration during the miseries of winter. Yule occurs on the winter solstice.

Yule Lore
One traditional Yuletide practice is the creation of the Yule tree.This can be a living,potted tree, or a cut one.The choice is yours.
Appropiate Wiccan decorations are fun to make, from strings of dried rosebuds or popcorn and cranberries,or garlands and bags of fragrant spices to be hung from the boughs.
Many enjoy the coustom of lighting the Yule log. This is a graphic representation of the rebirth of the God within the sacred fire of the Mother Goddess.
As to food, nuts,fruits such as apples and pears, and (for non-vegitarians) pork is traditional fare.Wassil, lambswool,hibiscus or ginger tea are fine drinks for the Simple Feast or Yule meals.
Imbolc (February 2nd)
A Wiccan festival celebrated on Feb. 2nd. Also known as Candlemas, Lupercalia,The Feast of Pan,Feast of Torches, Feast of the Waxing Light,Brigit's Day and many other days.Imbolc celebrates the first stirrings of spring and the recovery of the Goddess from giving birth to the Sun (the God) at Yule.

Imbolc Lore
It is traditional upon Imbolc, at sunset or after ritual to light every lamp in the house-if only for a few moments. Or, light a candle in each room of the house in honor of the Sun's rebirth.
Foods appropiate to eat on this day include those from the dairy, since Imbolc marks the festival of calving. Sour cream dishes are fine.Spicy full bodied foods in honor of the Sun are equally attuned.Spiced wines and dishes containing raisins and all foods symbolic of the Sun are also traditional.
Eostar (Ostara, Spring Equinox,March 20-23)
A wiccan festival occuring at the spring equinox around March 21st. Eostar marks the beginning of true, astronomical spring, when the snow and ice make way for green. As such it is a fire and fertility festival,celebrating the return of the Sun(the God) and the fertility of the Earth,(the Goddess)

Eostar Lore
A traditional pass time is to go to a feilds and pick wildflowers.The flowers you choose reveal you inner thoughts and emotions. It is important at this time of renewed life to plan a walk or ride through gardens, a park or trail, woodlands or any place green. Make your walk or ride celebratory, a ritual for nature itself.
Foods in tune with this day include those made with seeds, such as sunflower, pumpkin, and sesame seeds. Sprouts are equally appropiate as are leafy, green vegatables.
Beltane:May Eve
A Wiccan festival celebrated on April 30th or May 1st (traditions vary) Beltane is also known as Roodmas, Cethsamhain. Beltane celebrates the symbolic union, mating ormarriage of the Goddess and the God, and links in with the approaching summer months.


Beltane Lore
Weaving and plaiting are traditional arts at this time of year, for the joining together of two substances to form a third is in the spirit of Beltane.
Foods traditionally come from the dairy, and dishes such as marigold custard and vanilla ice cream are fine. Oatmeal cakes are also appropiate
