I came across these guys, by chance, in a magazine that they had placed an add in and I'm glad I did. This demo and band blew me away. To learn that they are located not far from me makes me proud. Take all the best moments from old Immortal and Burzum, throw in a huge helping of Sacrilegium, a dash of Judas Iscariot, add a little bit more brutality, and you have Cold Northern Vengeance. All of the songs are very well written and the production is perfect: not overdone, but everything sounds together. I believe the standout track is the very first, "The Darkness of Once Was." The dark keys nicely accompany the whole of the song. If I had to pick a runner up, "Pan, You May Return to the Meadows, Mountains, and Woodlands," because if Pan heard it, he would. It's a beautiful instrumental that makes a perfect outro to a very good demo. Keep your eyes out for Cold Northern Vengeance.
