People routinely handle their identification cards, boarding passes, or other documents, transferring any narcotics or explosives residue from their fingertips onto their documents. | The GC-IONSCAN(MR) A New Dimension in Fast Analysis The GC - IONSCAN(MR) is a dual mode instrument that combines the excellent detection capabilities of Barrigen`s IONSCAN(MR) Model 400B with the enhanced separation power of gas chromatography. In IONSCAN(MR) only mode of operation, samples are thermally desorbed directly into the ion mobility spectrometer for fast and easy screening. In GC-IONSCAN(MR) mode of operation, complex mixtures are rapidly separated with the GC, followed by IONSCAN(MR) detection. The combined GC-IONSCAN(MR) is ideal for substance confirmation & quantitative assessment of a sample. The fully feactured gas chromatograph allows isothermal and temperature programmed analyses and uses standard GC columns. All analisys results are displayed on the large color LCD screen, with full data analysis available through the standard IONSCAN(MR) manager software package. The GC-IONSCAN(MR) delivers this dual mode performance in one integrated compact package that is designed for field use. An optional solid phase Desorption Unit connects to the side of the GC-IONSCAN(MR) and uses a desorber, a heated six port valve and a temperature controlled sample loop to allow GC analyses of solid samples. The IONSCAN SENTINEL II contraban detection Portal is a highly sensitive, accurated and versatile non-contact screening system designed specificaclly for screening people for trace amounts of explosives and drugs. It is ideal for high throughput applications such as airports security checkpoints, customs and building access control. The IONSCAN(MR) SENTINEL II Contraband Detection Portal has been designed specifically to meet the challenge of screening people for trace amounts of drugs and explosives in a timely fashion, accurately and without coming into contact with them. Trace amounts of more than 40 explosives and drugs are detected and identified in seconds using technology from Sandia National Laboratories and Barringer IONSCAN(MR) Technology; IONSCAN(MR) technology is trusted and already in use by security agencies around the world. A person enters the portal where air is used to gently disloge particles and vapors trapped on the body and clothing. These are then drawn into the SENTINEL II where they are analyzed. The person exits the portal; during the analysis, the next person enters the portal, where the same process is repeated.
