If Tomorrow Never Comes Chapter 21 |

“Right here, thanks,” Melanee said to the cab driver, pointing at her house, “the one with the white fence.” The cab pulled into her driveway, Melanee gave the driver some money and thanked him. “Let me,” Nicky said, passing Melanee some money, “since you’re putting me up for the night.” Melanee was about to protest when Nicky raised his hand, “I’m not going to take the money back,” he said, smiling, “it’s the least I can do.” Melanee smiled and took out her keys, “I’ll have to give the guestroom a bit of a dust,” she said, opening the front door, “no-one’s been in there for ages.” Melanee walked into her house, and headed for the kitchen, “coffee?” she yelled from the kitchen, as Nicky closed the door and looked around. “White, with sugar, thanks,” Nicky replied, walking over to the couch and sitting down with a sigh, “this is a nice place you’ve got here.” “Thanks,” Melanee said, coming out of the kitchen holding 2 cups of coffee, “sorry, only got instant.” “That’s fine,” Nicky said, taking his coffee and moving over to let Melanee sit next to him. They both sat silently, sipping their coffee. “So,” Nicky said, after a while, “did you have a nice night?” “I did,” Melanee said, smiling up at Nicky with tired eyes, “did you?” “Yeah, I did,” Nicky said, smiling back, “a bit unexpected. I came with one girl, and left with another…” Melanee laughed at this, as she finished up the last of her coffee, “I always come with a guy and leave with another!” Nicky looked a little shocked, “really?” he said, putting down his mug next to Melanee’s, “I wouldn’t have guessed that about you.” “Oh no,” Melanee said, slapping Nicky’s arm lightly and laughing, “not like that, silly. I always arrive with Shane, then go home with someone else!” “Oh, right,” Nicky said, still not at ease, “so you always invite a guy home, then?” Melanee looked down, “its not like that,” she said, quietly, “don’t think that I’m just inviting you back because I always do…” “So why did you invite me back?” Nicky asked, edging a little closer, “and don’t say because it was just the cab fare…” Melanee looked up at Nicky, “no it wasn’t just the cab fare,” she said, leaning back on the couch, and letting Nicky fall slightly toward her, “not at all.” Nicky smiled, and stroked Melanee’s cheek as he continued to lean onto her, “not at all?” he asked. Melanee started breathing more heavily, as Nicky pressed himself against her, “I like you Nicky,” she said, reaching up and placing some loose hair behind his ear. “I like you too,” Nicky said, moving his hand behind Melanee’s back and kissing her lightly. Melanee responded immediately, and soon their light kisses became stronger and more passionate. Nicky started pulling up Melanee’s dress and rubbing his hand along her thighs and up her back. “Woah,” Melanee said, pushing his hand back, and tugging down her dress, “it’s way to soon for that, okay.” Nicky looked up, “I’m sorry,” he said, looking a little embarrassed, “I thought you wanted to.” “Not on a first date,” Melanee said, smiling, “I’ve had bad experiences with that.” Melanee lent down and kissed him again, “if you want that, you’re gonna have to hang around a while,” she said, reaching over and grabbing a blanket from the floor. She put it over them, and smiled up at Nicky, “I’m too tired to go upstairs,” she said, touching Nicky’s nose, “What about you?” Nicky smiled, but his cheeks still flamed a reddish tint. “Don’t worry, Nicky,” Melanee said, putting her arms around his neck, “there’s nothing to be embarrassed about.” “I know,” Nicky said, quietly, “I just don’t want you to think I’m some kind of sex crazed lunatic or anything.” Melanee laughed at this, and rolled over, so she was lying next to Nicky. “I don’t think that,” she said, nestling her head on his chest and closing her eyes, “I’m so tired…” Nicky smiled down at Melanee and put his arm around her, as she fell asleep on his chest. He kissed her lightly on the head and closed his eyes, “goodnight,” he whispered, “sweet dreams.” |
