Learning to Love Again Chapter 4 |
|||||||
Kian walked into Bryan and Shane’s room. He was totally rejuvenated after two days holidays and was now back with the lads at the Dublin hotel. He had just received a phone call from Louis that said he had found an interpreter for them for their Asian tour. “Hey Shane, Bry, looks like Louis has found us an interpreter for out Asian tour. Wonder what he’s like?” “Probably some old guy who’s as stiff as a board with no sense of fun, like the last one.” commented Bryan. “Nah uh. His guy’s only 18. He must be very good to get Louis to hire him.” “Woah. only 18? Younger than all of us. Hey seems fun. Have a little brother on board.” put in Shane. “Yeah we can show him what real partying’s like huh?” whooped an over-enthusiastic Bryan. “Calm down guys. We don’t even know him yet. We don’t know what he’s like.” said Kian before things got out of hand, “Oh and we’re supposed to meet him in an hour, so get up and get dressed. He’s gonna be here at 9. If ya see Nicky, tell him. I’ve told Mark.” Kian left to get ready. At 9am exactly all the Westlife lads were all together in the hotel’s visitor lounge. They saw Louis came through the door and gestured to somebody behind him. “Lads, I’d like to introduce to you your new interpreter Miss Alena Chiu.” said Louis as Alena came into the room. All the lads were dumbstruck for a second before remembering their manners. “Hi!” they all said. Kian’s voice stuck in his throat. What happened to the guy? ‘He’ had turned into a ‘she’. It was the girl at the airport. Her long black hair was loose this time. It reached to just above her elbows. She was wearing a loose white shirt opened at the neck. A silver heart locket adorned her neck. A short businesslike skirt plus a pair of black high heels completed her outfit. Why was he seeing her again?, he thought, did this mean anything? Maybe it was fate. The feeling that he had met before persisted to nag at him, not the time at the airport but some other time. “Hello. I’m Alena and I’m going to be your interpreter from now on. I hope we’ll be able to work together.” Louis, again, had to give credit to this girl. She was not at all phased that she was going to interpret for Westlife. The band that all girls at her age would have died to meet but she was surprisingly calm. Her stance was defensive and her head was held high. She had a no nonsense attitude about her, practically a warning that if any of the lads had any thoughts about her doing anything other than interpreting, they’d be sorry. He chuckled inwardly to himself. This was going to be fun watching how the lads would react to her. Kian was still stuck in his own little world when Bryan slapped him on the back. “Hey Kian, I thought you said it was a boy?? What happened to him? Had a sex change did he? Coz that definitely looks like a girl to me. Not a bad looking one at that.” commented a grinning Bryan, “Hey come on, we’re taking Alena up to her room.” “I don’t know.. I must’ve heard wrong. Sorry... I’m coming..” answered Kian absentmindedly. What was it about her? She wasn’t beautiful but she was pretty in an extraordinary way. He couldn’t get her out of his mind! Frustrated, he followed the rest of the lads out, with Bryan, of course, already beginning to chat up their new interpreter. |
