When I'm With You Chapter 7
	Toni groaned, rolling over to the other side of the bed to answer the ringing phone. “Hello?” she said tiredly, inwardly cursing the person on the other line, whoever it was. “Oh honey, did I wake you up? I’m so sorry. I’ll ring you later then.” “Mark, what is it?” Toni asked, closing her eyes. “Nothing. I just wanted to be the first to greet you good morning.” he said quietly. “Aww… good morning to you too.” she said as sweetly as she could. It ended sounding terrible because she was really tired. Something like that that Mark said normally would’ve caused Toni to smile as bright as the sun, but every nice thing he did made Toni feel worse. She didn’t know how she could do this to someone like him. “Umm… I’m really sorry to have woken you up, angel. I just wanted to ask you something.” Mark said as Toni groaned inwardly. If Mark knew who she was thinking of every second of the day, he would’ve probably called her Satan instead of Angel. “What was it?” she asked. “Aww… you don’t call me ‘sugar’ or ‘cookie’ anymore! How disappointing!” Mark said, putting on a little hurt tone. Toni rolled her eyes. “Okay cookie, what was it that you wanted to ask me sugar?” she said, cringing. “That’s better! Well, I wanted to ask you if you wanted to hang out with me and the lads for the rest of the day but since you sound so tired I’d understand if…” “Which lads?” Toni interrupted, suddenly sitting up. “You know, Bryan, Shane, Kian and Nicky. Erm… why are you so suddenly interested honey?” “Oh, umm… I… erm… I just want to get to know your friends better that’s all.” she lied. “You’re forgetting something…” Mark said. “What? Oh umm… cookie…” Toni said, trailing off. Mark laughed. “You know I love it when you call me that.” “So, what time are you gonna pick me up here?” she asked. “Hmm… you sound so excited angel! You sure it’s me you want to see and not the other lads?” Mark joked. Toni felt as if her heart stopped. She gave a nervous laugh. “Of course it’s you I want to see, who else would I want to see?” Toni said, cold sweat starting to form on her forehead. “Well, I’ll be there in an hour. Is that long enough for you to get ready?” “That’s long enough.” Toni said. There was a long silence from Mark. Toni sighed. “That’s long enough, cookie.” she said as Mark laughed. “Okay, bye then my angel. I love you.” “Yeah, bye.” Toni said as she immediately placed the phone down. Her heart was beating like mad. First of all, she was going to see Nicky once again. Another reason was, Mark just told her that he loves her. It was the first time he said it, and she didn’t know what to say. Her feelings for Mark were at a very shaky position at this point. She didn’t want to hurt him, and she didn’t want to lead him on. She didn’t want him to believe in something that she was not sure of if it was true. How can you possibly tell someone you love him when you have a deadly attraction for his friend? It was just so heartless for anyone to do it.
