You'll Never Stand Alone
Chapter 14
“Arrrrggghhh! My head! What did I do to deserve this?” Nicky had
just woken up after they all had had a great night out, but as always
after a huge party, he now needed to face the consequences. And
the best way usually is to take two aspirins and then go back to  sleep!
“Hmm, let’s see Nix… That’s really a thinker… You drank like six
Guinness’s, loadsa fizzy pops, oh and let’s not forget three of those
disgustingly green drinks. I can go on if you want to, but I think
that’s answer enough for you.”
“Ha ha, you’re really funny hun!” Nicky said in a very sarcastic voice
as he let his head fall back on the pillow again. “You know what? I
have the funniest girlfriend ever! Wow!”
“Yeah, yeah… So I’m pretty sure you don’t wanna go out shopping
with me and Helena then?” Becky said as she put on the last of her  lip-gloss.
“Oh, you think? What gave it away? Not only are you funny you’re
smart as well!” Becky just looked at him and rolled her eyes.
“I’ll see you later babe!” she said and went towards the door.
“What? I don’t get a goodbye kiss?” he tried his best puppy eye
look, but it didn’t quite work as he wanted it to.
“Ermm hunnie, I’m gonna put this as nicely as I possibly can, no
wait, I’m just gonna say it; your breath is absolutely, totally bad this
morning! If I were you, I wouldn’t breathe in the same room as
anyone ‘til I’d brushed my teeth.” And with that Becky blew him a
kiss and left the bedroom.
‘Me? Bad breath? I don’t think so!’ Nicky thought to himself, but
just to be sure he breathed in his hands and then smelled. And
without thinking about his terrible headache he quickly got up, went
straight to the bathroom and brushed his teeth.
**********
After having spent the whole afternoon running in and out of different
stores and trying on basically all the clothes in London, Helena and
Becky made their ways back to Bryan’s place with all their
shopping bags. They went into the kitchen and found two very
hangovered boyfriends drinking coffee.
“Oh, so you do know how to get out of bed?” Becky said teasingly
and went up to Nicky. He didn’t answer; he just shook his head and
looked at Bryan rolling his eyes.
“Where are the others by the way?” All seven had spent the night at
Bry’s, seeing as he lived very close to the club they went to.
“Oh, they went to Kian’s. He has bought this huge book case and
needed some help putting it together, so Mark and Nic went with  him."
“Oh, so you know how to talk as well! Now, don’t over-do it.”
“Ha ha, you’re girlfriend is so funny, Nix!” Bry said sarcastically.
“I know, isn’t she? I told her that this morning as well.” Nicky’s
voice was, not surprisingly, filled with the same amount of sarcasm.
“So,” Bry said and turned to Helena, “what did you get?”
“Ah, not so fast there, babe! First I wanna hear about that phone
call you made yesterday…”
“What phone call?” he said with an innocent voice, but Helena saw  through it.
“Don’t give me that! You said something like, ‘Ok, we’ll pick you up
tomorrow then, she’s gonna be so thrilled to see you!’ So of course
the questions I have for you now are: Who are you picking up? And
who’s gonna be thrilled?” “Errmm, I can’t really tell you…” “Why?”
“Cos I can’t…” “Why?” “I just can’t…” “Why?”
“Well, basically, cos I just can’t…” “Why?”
“Okay,” Nicky interrupted with a smile, “as much as we would like
to stay here and hear the ending of this very interesting discussion,
we really have to go now. But please get back to us about it.” He
and Becky took their bags, said their goodbyes and began the 25-
minute walk back to Becky’s apartment.
“So Bry, are you gonna tell me about the phone call or are you
enjoying this game?” Helena asked as they got back into the  kitchen.
“Jeez, you really are curious aren’t you?” Bry said with a smile and
softly kissed the tip of her nose. “Can’t you just wait and see? Her
plane will land soon.”
“Oh, so it’s a ‘she’ is it? Okay, tell me more; is it someone I know?”
Helena did her best to get some more information about this
mysterious person out of her boyfriend. But her puppy eye look
combined with some soft kisses didn’t work and Bryan refused to
say another word. He then looked at his watch and flung out of the  chair,
“Oh my God! Is that the time? We so have to get moving, her plane
will land in about… well, kinda like NOW!” And with that both of
them jumped into Bryan’s rented car and rushed to the airport
where the mysterious visitor was already waiting.
