You'll Never Stand Alone
Chapter 9
She got a shock when she saw who was standing behind her.
“Nicky? What are you doing here?” Nicky didn’t answer her
question, instead he took a step forward and gently wiped her tears
away with his fingers, then he put his arms around her, hugging her
tight and whispering against her hair,
“I’m so sorry hun! I wish you’d told me, you shouldn’t keep these
things inside…” Oh God, he was always so nice to her and if she
wasn’t sure before, she was now. She really had fallen in love with
Nicky! ‘I’m in love with Nicky!’ Becky thought to herself and to her
surprise this actually made her smile.
Nicky softly pulled away from and looked into her eyes, Becky
could see that he was crying now as well and this time it was she
who wiped his tears away.
“When did this happen?” Nicky asked, “When did your father pass
away?” Becky didn’t wanna get into all that now, it would take too
long and they only had two hours before they were supposed to be
at Shane’s place.
“Not now Nicky, please… can’t we take it all when we get back
from Shane and Mill? I promise to tell you everything tonight, I think
it’s time you know my history…” he smiled at her as if to reassure
her that it was okay and softly kissed her lips,
“I love you too, by the way.” He said as their lips parted.
*AT SHANE’S PLACE* “Welcome!”
“Thanks, I’m sorry that we’re a bit late. It took Nicky like forever to
get his hair perfect.” Becky said as she playfully hit Nicky on his arm.
“Yeah right! Don’t believe her Mill, I mean who was it that stood in
the shower for 45 minutes?” Nicky said and looked back at his
girlfriend with a cheeky smile.
“Ha! I was done after 10 minutes but then someone wanted me to
stay longer to help him wash his back…”
“Okay…” Mill interrupted with a smile, “I don’t think we should get
into that one, huh? Instead let’s go into the living-room and say
‘hello’ to the others.” Mill followed them and took care of the
introduction bit.
“Everybody,” she said referring to the lads’ girlfriends, since she
obviously already knew the Westlife guys, “this is Nicky’s girlfriend
Rebecca. Becky, this is everybody, Bryan’s girlfriend Heléna,
Kian’s girlfriend Jen and that’s Nicole, Mark’s girlfriend. Phew!” They
all got up and hugged each other and said ‘hello’, then Mill excused
herself, cos from the helpless cries from Shane in the kitchen it
sounded like he really needed help! Mill rolled her eyes,
“Jeez, how hard can it be? All he has to do is to take the food out of
the boxes and put it on plates…” She left the living-room and went
to the kitchen while everybody laughed. “Hun, do you need some help out here?”
“No, of course not! What ever gave you that idea sweetie?” Shane
said with a sarcastic smile as he started cleaning up some rise
from the floor.
“Okay, then I guess I’ll just go and talk the others again then…” Mill
said with a cheeky smile.
“Not so fast there babe!” Shane took a hold of her and gently
started kissing her neck, “They won’t notice if you’re gone a few
more minutes and besides I began feeling lonely out here.” Mill
looked at him as he tried his puppy eye look and of course it
worked, she could never refuse that look. So, instead of going and
instead of getting the food ready, she turned around and kissed
him. And without getting into too many details, let’s just say the
guests in the living room had to wait a while longer for dinner!
