This is a story about me and what has happened to me. On Halloween night of 2001. I was running a temputature of 102.5,which is very high for myself considering i never ran temps.My mother was very scared for me. We thought it was just a case of strep throat again but it wasnt . My mom took off my shirt and gave me some tylenol to get my temputature down.Thats whan she notice that my right side of my tummy was very hard.She thought i might have had something wrong with my appendix so she took me to the emergency room in Bradford PA .
They ran tests on me and found that i had a large mass in my right side of my belly .They didnt know what it might be .So they rushed us up to Buffalo Childrens hospital where they ran lots of tests on me. They found that i had what they call a Wilms Tumor on my right kidney
The Wilms tumor that i have has traveled on my vena cavel vein and is very close to my heart . Usually in Wilms tumor cases they take tumor out and then do chemotherapy .But in my case they had to do chemotherapy first to shrink down the attaching peice going to my heart.
I have gone throught 10 weeks of chemotherapy and the doctors finally said it time to take out the Tumor .In the first part of January i was soposed to have sugery but they had to cancel because i came down with a case of RSV .
They set another date for Feburary the 8th was in hospital for a week they canceled sugery again.This time i had a ear infection,sinus infection,and i had a infection in my blood .So they have set another date again which will be Feburary 26 .
And that Brings us up to today .I am doing ok we are just patiently waiting for sugery day to come. Hope the docotors are right .They are telling me third time is a charm so we are keeping are fingers crossed.
