There's a New Man in the House
In this corner, weighing in at 6 pounds, 6 ounces and lying 49 centimeters long, ANTON LORENZO BALLECER CAYETANO.
Born last August 8, 2003 at 10:50am at the Davao Doctors Hospital, Anton is the second offspring and first son of Willyboy and Theena.  A reliable source says that his first name sprung from Anthony and Alton.  Can't argue with that.  We have yet to acquire any comments from neither the child nor his parents.
Our best wishes.
Paolo Maroons Tonton on Island
The 2003 International Coastal Cleanup transpired this September 20th, Saturday.  The annual event, now on its 18th year, is organized by The Ocean Conservancy and is supported by over 100 countries worldwide.
We assisted in our own modest way by joining various groups collect trash in the vicinity of Samal Island.  Tonton signed up with Pundok Habagat Davao as they gathered garbage washed ashore along the beaches of Barangay San Jose, while Paolo ventured offshore, rendering his contributions underwater, scubasurero-style.
Although we were able to bunch up a considerable amount of trash at the end of the day, there was still a lot left.  But the significant thing is that those who lent a hand made a difference, and the essential message was spread across.

Q U E S T I O N S
Back home, bills need to be settled, work has a deadline, paper is due next week, email inbox is beyond capacity, the website is in dire need of updating, room needs to be cleaned, questions need to be answered...
Yet here we are, dragging our heavy boots one after the other up on the trail, lugging our packs on a delicate balancing act between go on or go back.  Ache emanates from every muscle and every bone, some of which we never even knew existed before.  More questions arise as we shake our sun-baked skulls looking for rationalizations to our chosen painstaking endeavor.
And as we occasionally pause to relieve our sore backs and wobbly knees, we look back to see what we've put behind us, what's around us, and what lies ahead.  Panting and wheezing, barely out of breath; one can hardly speak, but there is no actual need for words at all.
We continue to trudge along, one heavy boot after the other.  The questions fade upon every step, and we find answers only to those that truly matter.
