CASCA NEWS | |||||||
15 January 2003. Word has reached me that the link to Matt Wall's email is not working. I shall endeavour to find out what is wrong. ****************** 16 October 2002. I've added a guestbook on the main page. Its Bravenet's, the same as the old one which inexplicably died last year. ****************** 12 October 2002. Click on the link here to see the Circus Maximus as it is now. This is where Casca fought as a gladiator and killed Jubala. CIRCUS MAXIMUS There are other photos I have of ancient Roman monuments, and if you'd like any of these in connection with Casca's journeys please email me quoting the book number and part it relates to. The photos include the Baths of Caracalla, the Colosseum, The Forum, The Palatine Hill and the Pantheon as well as others. ****************** 26 September 2002. Thanks to an old pal of Barry Sadler's, I've got a couple of pictures he let me use on the site. See them on the Barry Sadler Biography page. ****************** 22 September 2002. Having just come back from a holiday in Rome, I have a much better idea of what the layout of the old Circus Maximus looked like. Its just an empty area now but I could just imagine Casca fighting Jubala there. Also the new publishers have been unveiled as Americana Publishers. No fresh news on the movie which isn't good. It appears those responsible can't seem to get it together yet. ****************** 13 August 2002. Just finished speaking to Paul Dengelegi about the new contract and book. It is definitely under way and although he did not inform me as to the period covered it was an interesting conversation. Paul said he'd provide me more details about the new book contract in a short while. ****************** 6 August 2002. More changes! The old email link to me that has existed since this website started has died. Freeserve's email system died over the weekend of 3-4 August so I've got a new email address for you to contact me on: tonyrobertsbristol@yahoo.co.uk ****************** 25 July 2002. The website has now been transferred out of Geocities. This means that if anyone tries to access it using the old www.oocities.org/tony_roberts_bristol/casca-longinus.html URL they won't get it. Now only the www.casca.co.uk URL will work. ****************** 22 July 2002. News is out that the next book in the series, number 25, should have the contract signed next week. Further news about this, including the title and content, will appear on this newsheet as soon as I hear about it. ****************** 17 July 2002. The last week has seen one of the busiest ones for visits to this website. Plans are afoot to move this website in the near future to a web supplier who can handle the increased traffic. Geocities only allow 3MB per month bandwidth whereas I need much more than that. Watch out for further announcements. ****************** 2 July 2002. Gary Sizemore announced on barrysadler.com that new contracts on the audio books have been awarded or are in negotiation. Books In Motion will do the unabridged versions of all 24 existing books and negotiations are underway with Americana Publishing to do the abridged versions. Also the first mention of book 25 has been made. I shall speak to Paul Dengelegi and see if I can come up with more details of this. ****************** 16 June 2002. Following the busiest day ever on this website for visits, Geocities had to close the website down for two days! An unprecedented number of visitors overwhelmed the bandwidth, only the third time this has happened since this website was created back in April 2000. Also further news concerning the movie came from Matt Wall, see details on the MOVIE page. ***************** 23 May 2002. BIG NEWS ABOUT THE CASCA MOVIE. Universal Pictures have commissioned screen writer John Turman (of Iron Fist fame) to pen the movie, which will apparantly take place in modern times. Radar Pictures and Focus International will develop the project for Universal, with Focus fully financing the package. Radar's Scott Kroof and Tom Engelman will produce the movie. **************** 13 May 2002. Geocities are bringing down the website 17-19 May in order to carry out some admin upgrades. Also, news has reached my ears that Paul Dengelegi has two new stories under way, one set in medieval times, one more up to date. **************** 15 April 2002. I've added this page to accommodate further news items. Nothing much to report yet apart from the continued search for another distributor to publish the audio stories. No developments as yet but there are hopes for the future. *************** |
