What We've Been Up To
2/4:  Tony finally developed his pictures from his two recent field exercises.  See the link for RIMPAC and Mojave Viper pics above!

1/22:
[2 new pages of pictures -- see the above links!!] We had a wonderful holiday season here in Southern California.  No snow, but plenty of sunshine -- I guess we can't have the best of both worlds.  We spent Christmas and New Year's hunkered down, as it was a nice respite after being separated again for a month while Tony was out in the field.  We've been taking advantage of the short time we have remaining together, as Tony leaves for Iraq within a month.  We've spent our time wandering the communities of San Diego, checking out the museums and theaters in Balboa Park, and just got back from a trip to Las Vegas and Red Rock Canyon yesterday.  Determined to take advantage of everything Vegas has to offer, we toured the Venetian art museum, had a great time at the Comedy Stop at the Tropicana, hiked and scrambled at Red Rock Canyon, watched  a corny Wild West show at Bonnie Springs, and topped it off with dinner at Mix (FANTASTIC experience), and the Cirque du Soleil performance of "Love".  We were both blown away by the performance, which was done in classic Cirque du Soleil style to the music of The Beatles.  Absolutely unbelievable, and we highly recommend it.
This will probably be our last update until Tony returns from Iraq.  MaryBeth is going to hang out in San Diego for a couple months, and then make her deployment pilgrammage back up to Bremerton for the summer.  We hope you all had a wonderful Chritmas season, and have a fantastic 2006.  We hope to hear from you all soon

11/23:
Thanksgiving Day!  We spoke to MB's parents this morning, and promised we'd get up another page of pictures before the Morton's festivities this evening.  See the "Fall 2006" link above!
All's going well in Southern California.  Rich, Eileen, Stef, Jeff, Maddie and Colby were down a visit recently.  They made their way through every amusement park and attraction Southern California has to offer, and popped by for a visit with us one evening.  The Cooper family was also down in the area, but we missed them by just a few days.  It was great to visit with them, and we all went out for pizza and beer at a local joint.  Sorry Jeff -- it was a few more blocks away than we told you...
We also made our annual pilgramage to Big Bear -- our little mountain escape from the city.  As always, we mountain biked until exhuastion, ate at some outstanding restaurants in the Village, and did plenty of relaxing in the cabin.  We both went through a couple books apiece that weekend, and really recharged our batteries for the upcoming holiday season.
Tony's Battalion Marine Corps Birthday Ball was held just a couple weekends ago in Nevada, so we also made our way out there.  We had a wonderful time eating, drinking and dancing.  And last weekend, Tony's Uncle Frank was down for a visit.  We all got to spend a couple evenings together, MB cooked up a great meal for his visit, and we got to share memories, stories and photos that spanned the last decade that we've missed him.  Tony also ran the Silver Strand Half-Marathon that weekend, and had a great time doing that...although he's still limping around...
Tony's on his way out to the field for a month, so MB is tasked with an inordinate amount of things to do in preparation for Christmas.  We've had a great, albeit busy, fall season so far...we wish everyone joy on this Thanksgiving Day, and hope to hear from you all soon!

9/23:
Another delayed update, but this time we have 3 new pages of pics to share!  It's been a busy summer for the both of us, and we're welcoming the changing seasons that lie just around the corner.  Tony was gone for 2 months on a RIMPAC (Rim of the Pacific) Exercise, floating around & hitting the beaches of the Hawaiian islands.  The exercise was both work and play, and he had a wonderful time with his Marines and Corpsmen.  During his absence, MaryBeth finished off her A.A. degree, and is looking forward to finishing off her B.A., and subsequent M.A.  She also entertained the wild bunch of Seth and friends for a couple weeks, and they all took advantage of the beach, local restaurants, sights, boogie boarding and surfing.  Her latest jaunt was back up to Bremerton for Michelle's wedding and some quality time with friends and family.  She brought back tons of photos -- check them out!
Tony was selected for Chief in early August, and just finished off the transition / initiation period.  It was a long month and a half for the both of us, and there were many days that we would go without seeing hide nor hare of each other.  "Do you live here???"  The only evidence that either of us existed to each other was a dirty wine glass or empty beer bottle...but we took advantage of the time we had together.  Mom & Dad made it down for Tony's pinning, and we had a grand time catching up over a weekend.  Tony is staying with 1st Marine Division, however will be moving to 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion to take over as the Leading Chief there.  We're both looking forward to our new life within the Chief's Mess.

That's about it for us right now.  We'll try to get more pics up shortly!  We hope to hear from everyone soon!

4/16:
Our apologies about the delayed update...I guess it has been a while.  Despite our various trips out and about around Southern California (and Las Vegas), we've been horrible about taking pictures.  After years of holding off, we finally broke down and purchased a digital camera.  The convenience factor outweighed the "We still like photograph albums" argument, so now we'll be sure to update our website with pics on a more regular basis.
All is continually going well  for us.  MaryBeth is still chipping away at college.  She finishes her AA in a couple months and is looking forward to working on her BA at Cal State San Marcos.  With every new class comes a new potential major, but unfortunately she's going to have to decide very soon!  Concurrently, Tony remains of the same mindset , as he's still unsure "what to be when he grows up".  Nevertheless, we're enjoying the journey and having great times along the way.
Tony is on his way up to 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment within the month.  He's looking forward to getting with a deploying unit, and is anxiously awaiting his deployment schedule.
Well, spring has finally sprung in Southern California.  The beaches are starting to pile full of bodies, and the days are getting longer leaving us plenty of sunshine to enjoy.  Our apartment's always open to family and friends -- we hope to see some of you soon
