| Dress Rehearsals -- This will be held during your child's classtime the week of May 16th. Please come to the studio in costume ready for a run-through of your dances. You can wear makeup, if desired. Please be sure costumes are fluffed or pressed. In some cases, a quick trip in the dryer will get out the wrinkles. Label all shoes, batons, costumes, etc. with names. Recital -- Everyone needs to arrive at Lee High School about 20 minutes before showtime to find your dressing area. Locate the "Band Room" at the right-back-side of the school. Posters with classtimes will be posted at your correct meeting location. Bring a towel to sit on while waiting and maybe coloring books and crayons for the little dancers. 2-3 room mothers per class will be on hand to watch students. Only these mothers should go backstage during the show. Sign up at the studio this week to volunteer. Room mothers may want to rotate during the show, if needed. Some of the dance team members will also be helping backstage. For staging purposes, all students need to wear makeup. Smaller children need blush, eye shadow, lipstick and mascara. This makes the dancers have color for the videos and pictures. Long hair should be pulled away from face and secured (unless specified differently). NO PANTIES are to be worn with costumes!!! Have your child's costumes and accessories labeled with name either on hangers or in bags. Brings students dressed and ready for their first dance number. We want costumes to be a surprise so please wear a cover-up to the recital. This will also help prevent them from getting dirty. T-SHIRTS -- Dance Recital tshirts make a perfect coverup. We will have some available for purchase a couple of months before the recital. PLEASE REMEMBER that your dancer is special during this event! You might want to purchase a little recital gift! Each student will receive an award medal. There will be 2 or 3 unique vendors in the lobby with gifts. Brenda Rylant (262-1249) will have flowers and Becky Lackey (277-9479) will have trophies available for purchase. |
| NO VIDEO CAMERAS ALLOWED AT OUR SPRING RECITALS A professional videographer will be taping the shows for $25 each. These videos are excellent quality and even the younger students enjoy watching the entire show for years to come. We suggest that you bring your camera to the dress rehearsal and get just your child up close and personal. There are up-close shots and the video pants across the stage at the recital. You will be very pleased with Videomedia Productions! |
