ABOUT THE COMPOSER/EDUCATOR...
Tony Susi has been teaching music in Connecticut public schools at both the middle and high school level since 1985.  Tony serves as a frequent guest conductor, adjudicator and clinician.  He has had articles on teaching music published in the CMEA Journal, Music Educators Journal and Bandworld magazines.  Mr. Susi is the 1997 Connecticut recipient of the Distinguished Band Directors Award and was recognized by CMEA/MENC as one of two "up and coming" music teachers in the state of Connecticut in 2000.  He has composed and recorded numerous works in a variety of genres.  A composition from his New Horizons CD, Renegade, was featured on the 1996 compilation disc, The Best of Connecticut and Rhode Island and will also be appear on the 2003 Best of CSA (Connecticut Songwriters Association) compilation disc.  Mr. Susi's Catch the Spirit, Faces of America, 'Til We Meet Again, and Huntington Ravine were premiered at state honors band festivals under his direction. He has composed commissioned works for Putnam High School, RHAM High School, Mystic Middle School, Coventry High School, Fairfield Middle School and Lyman Memorial High School band programs.
As a singer/songwriter, Tony has been actively performing his original music
since he was 12.  With a Bachelors and Masters degree in music, his compositions reflect the wide ranging variety and scope of his musical training.  As a skilled pianist, guitarist and vocalist, Tony has produced six of his own albums since 1985, each one in a different style (see discography).  Whether he's writing a Rock, Country, Folk or New Age song, the message behind each one is sincere and the melody memorable.  The release of
Endeavors of the Heart was premiered live at Borders Books & Music in Manchester and Farmington, CT.  The release of Retrospect was premiered live at Media Play in Manchester.  He has been a featured performer for events such as Vernon Day in the Park, Coventry Fest, Derby Day and the Manchester Folk Festival.
ABOUT THE PERFORMER...
In addition to his original songs, Tony also covers songs on piano and guitar by over 100 popular recording artists from the 60's through the present.  He performs at numerous cafes, clubs, inns and restaurants throughout Connecticut for public and private engagements.  He is also a vocalist and keyboard player for "That 70's Band".  Visit www.That70sBand.us
