Trip in 2000

At the end of 2000, our family had a nice trip around the southwest of US. Here are some pictures we took during this trip. Most of pictures were taken with a Nikon Coolpix 880 digital camera. You are welcome to check each of following albums and see these great places around the southwest.

Santa Fe, New Mexico
Santa Fe is full of culture, history, art and gorgeous scenery.  It is at the foot of the Rocky Mountains.
White Sands National Park, New Mexico
White Sands is the world's largest gypsum dune field. It is my first try of nature photography.
Christmas Eve in Albuquerque, New Mexico
Christmas Eve is very unique in Albuquerque because of these lights on the ground. People were gathering and singing Christmas songs in downtown ABQ.
Snow in Albuquerque, New Mexico
We got heavy snow right after Christmas in Albuquerque. Although it delayed our trip, I got time to take pictures of snow and try out different settings.
Carlsbad Cavern National Park, New Mexico
This is one of great national parks we have seen. We took "Big Room Route" since we had limited time in this park.
Saguaro National Park, Arizona
Giant saguaro cacti, unique to the Sonoran Desert, some of them reach a height of 50 feet in this cactus forest.
Petrified Forest National Park, Arizona
It is really two parks in one, the Painted Desert at the North end and the Rainbow Forest at the South end. The park covers over 93,533 acres and consists of six separate "forests" that took over 200 million years to form.
Hoover Dam, Nevada
On the way to Las Vegas, we stopped by Hoover Dam.
Las Vegas, Nevada
Pictures we took around Las Vegas.
San Diego and Zoo, California
World famous zoo -- San Diego Zoo.
