| A Nice Drive In the Country | ||||||
| One time I thought it would be nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city by taking a nice drive in the country. So we set out down a long rolling road past hay rolls and feed stores tractors and long dirt driveways. We stopped for gas at a little rundown gas station. I went inside to pay in advance and the man said just get what you need and then come in and settle up. I was pleasantly surprised but made the mistake of saying “It’s nice that you are able to trust people here”. I meant it as a friendly thing to say in a friendly sort of way but the man scowled at my statement like I was a loser from the big city. |
