| Memories in a Drawer | ||||||
| I found your blue windbreaker in a drawer last night. I had thought all your things were gone but it’s been resting quietly there all these years, waiting for me. How many times did I see you wear that jacket? Sometimes you were still putting it on as you juggled your keys and whatever other important things you were carrying in your arms that day as you breezed out the door. Other times I would spot its bright blue in a crowd when we were to meet somewhere and I would raise my arm so that you would see where I stood waiting. I lifted it from the drawer last night and held it up and it all came flooding back. I don’t know where those memories were stored but all it took to bring them back was to see your cheery blue windbreaker lying now quietly in a drawer. |
