Rain
We don't want to get wet.
We wear raincoats
boots
We carry umbrellas.
We duck under awnings.
But every once in a while
there's no way to avoid it.
We get soaked.
It doesn't happen often
in this carefully controlled life we live.
But every once in a while
we do get soaked.
And once drenched
the rain doesn't seem to matter any more.
Once your socks are squishy-wet
and your underwear clings to you,
once your hair is plastered to your neck
you can tilt your head back
and let it rain directly in your face.
The downpour has no power over you anymore.
Until you get dry again.
