Sweet Mystery: Oded Fehr

Israeli actor Oded Fehr is rising to stardom slowly but surely. His role as the courageous, dashing Medjai chieftain Ardeth Bay in the action-adventure movie The Mummy (1999) has won him legions of adoring female fans. Director Stephen Sommers almost killed off his character in The Mummy, but fortunately he was so impressed by Oded's smouldering screen appeal that he had the script rewritten to give Ardeth Bay a chance to ride again in the sequel, The Mummy Returns (2001).

Dozens of fan sites with names like "Oded Fehr: The Beautiful One", "Oded Fehr Appreciation Site" and "Oded Fehr's Swoon Room" popped up all over the Internet like mushrooms after rain following that first Mummy movie, even though his was just a minor role then. Truly astonishing for an actor who's only been in three major movies. Besides his role as Ardeth Bay in the two Mummy movies, he played the suave Italian gigolo Antoine Laconte in the Disney production Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo.
