4 Questions for Oded Fehr - New York Post, Oct. 7, 2001

Kids with cancer are my heroes

Who are your heroes?

The kids from the "Kids Cancer Connection" are my heroes. These children fight the worst enemy of all, cancer. One time a 13 year old said about a five year old: "It is sad that he never got to experience life as I did."

Is there a book or movie that has changed your life?

The first book I ever read changed my life. I cannot recall the name of it. I was just a small child. When I finished the last page, I remember the surprise of what a wonderful experience it was to read. Before that day, I always left reading to other people.

What was your worst day ever?

I think it was the day I found out one of my best friends got killed in a motorcycle accident. I was away in Germany and his family couldn't get a hold of me. One day I called his home to see how he was doing. You can imagine the shock.

What would you be doing if you weren't doing this?

I love kids, so I think I would be a kindergarten teacher. I actually think some days of chucking it all and opening a preschool.

Fehr who appeared in "The Mummy" and "The Mummy Returns"stars in NBC's new series "UC: Undercover."
