A basic overview of WARHAMMER 40,000 CCG given by sabertoothgames
The Game:
In the Warhammer 40,000 CCG, each player uses his or her own customized deck of cards to do battle in a dark Sci-Fi universe. Giant armies clashing over valuable worlds, and you ... on a quest to rule them all.

Each player represents a race from the Warhammer 40,000 universe such as the Orks, Space Marines, the Eldar, and more. Each race has a distinct look and feel, defined by years of world development at Games Workshop. In the CCG, these differences are translated into play styles that differ from race to race.

Players can collect cards by trading with friends, purchasing race specific decks, buying randomized booster packs, and redeeming the booster wraps for premium cards! If you are to build the perfect deck, complete your collection, or get your favorite troop type; you will probably try a little of all of them.
Welcome to the Warhammer 40,000 Collectible Card Game.

It is the far distant future, an age of horror and war has descended upon the galaxy. On a thousand worlds, battle rages between the hard-pressed Imperium of Man and hordes of alien invaders. Every victory earns a brief respite until the next attack. Every defeat brings Mankind closer to extinction. By building up armies and doing battle, you will prove yourself in epic battles on worlds vital to humanities' survival. Many species continually struggle for the power you seek, witch one will you choose …

Space Marines:
Genetically engineered super-humans incepted by the Emperor himself, these valiant warriors fight to protect humanity from all who would oppose it. Standing eight feet tall and encased in adamantium reinforced ceramite armor, the massive bulk of a Space Marine is a sight terrifying enough to strike fear into even the most hardened veteran. Preferring surgical strikes, where their relatively small numbers are not a disadvantage, the Space Marines are equally adept at both destroying their enemies through firepower or hand-to-hand combat.

Eldar:
A race far more ancient than humans, the Eldar ruled the stars for millennia. A great cataclysm has since spelled doom for the Eldar. Their empire destroyed, the few Eldar to survive that terrible travesty now live on huge vessels known as Craftworlds. Wandering the stars, the Eldar live out their daily lives, fearing for the day when the Chaos god Slaanesh will come to devour their souls. In preparation for that day, all Eldar are given a basic combat training, so that if their Craftworld was ever to fall under attack, everyone could give a good account of themselves. Some Eldar walk the path of the warrior, and devote themselves to one aspect of Khaine, the Eldar war-god. These formidable warriors excel at certain aspects of combat, depending on their chosen shrine. Sadly, the Eldar situation is so dire that not even the souls of the dead can rest, and certain chosen souls are plucked out of their protective slumber in the Infinity Circuit that is an integral part of the craftworld and placed into a Wraithguard, or sometimes even a mighty Wraithlord.
Chaos:
The Chaos Gods have lived since time immemorial, twisting the minds and bodies of all who they can lay their hands on and tormenting the living with their hideous demons. What is somewhat new to the fight are the Chaos Space Marines. Ten thousand years ago, the Imperium of man suffered a terrible civil war. Fully half of the original Space Marine legions revolted against the Emperor, under the influence of the Dark Gods. The battle culminated in a siege of the Emperor's Palace on Terra, with a final battle between the Emperor himself and Horus, the Warmaster of the Chaos Space Marines who was formerly the Emperor's most trusted lieutenant. Though mortally wounded, the Emperor managed to best Horus, and the Chaos forces were driven away from Terra. Retreating into the Eye of Terror, a terrible Warp-storm where the laws of time and space have no real meaning, these traitor marines have lived ever since, plotting their revenge on the false emperor and his weak Imperium.
