| Thai Boxing is both a sport and a means of self defence. Contestants are allowed to use almost any part of their body, feet, elbows, legs, knees, shoulders are all 'weapons' ! The playing of traditional music during bouts makes for even greater excitement. there are two venues in Bangkok for this type of sport Lumphini Stadium (T. 2514303) on Rama IV Road Ratchadamnoen Stadium (T. 2814205) at Ratchadamnoen Nok Avenue (next to TAT) every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday at 6.00 p.m. Tree other stadiums well-known to boxing lovers are SamRong Stadium in Samutprakan (T. 3933592), Rang Sit Stadium in Pathumthani province (T. 2460885) and Siam Boxing Stadium in Nong Khaem (T. 4204317) | |
