Construction - Step 10 | |||||||||||
Using the bubble level from a string line level, a scrap of aluminum, some more hot glue, and a couple more bolts, I made a rudimentary leveling device. The right side is firmly clamped between two nuts. The aluminum is bent so that it springs upward to the left. The left side of the aluminum has a slot which allows it to ride up and down the left bolt, with the nut and washer controlling the height (and, consequently, the position of the bubble). The bubble is centered when setting up the device. When a calibration bar or gun is placed in the cradle, the bubble returns to center when the bar or gun is properly positioned on the cradle. I have made a couple different variations of this, including one with a coil spring under one end. |
