My Generator

The generator sat on what used to be the kickstand mount. On the incarnation of the bike shown here, the two rear "blades" had been cut out to allow this block to move closer to the wheel. I don't recommend this course of action to anybody since it is tricky and may affect the alignment of the rear wheel. I've since replaced the rear assembly and will not cut it out for that generator block. Rather, I believe that getting one of the slanting blocks used for the front derailleur will allow me to mount that generator without any cutting.

The generator is a fairly regular Sanyo model and all I've done is to place a bridge rectifier on the cable to the battery. This way, I can augment the battery power if it should be running low and I can even recharge the battery by running the generator at daytime.
