My Rear Brake

The Magura hydraulic brake is superb for this use. The cable run is short and simple but that wheel holds the greater part of the bike's weight so a lot of power is needed.

It also works flawlessly mounted directly on the rear fork crown (despite that weird angle) thanks to the straight-line movement of the pads and the way they can be rotated to align with the rim.

The only "trick" is that I've had to mount it on a "bolt" made out of a piece of threaded steel that's been bent, since the angle of the hole in the fork crown is a bit weird.
