Piggy was my first rescue (1995). She is a 3 toed box turtle. She was kept (by 3 college students) in a plastic swimming pool with no way to get out of the water. Box turtles are land turtles. |

This is Borissa. She is a Russian Tortoise. I recesued Borissa in 1999 from someone who was feeding her only iceburg lettuce. She did not receive sunlight or uvb so she became soft. |

This is Hank. He is a Russian Tortoise. I adopted Hank in 2001 from Molly's keeper in Texas. Hank was purchased when his keeper thought Murph had run away. When Murph came back Hank came to join my herd so he could be with his own kind.

This female box turtle had shell rot. She went to live with a very nice family in Texas in 2001 and was named Molly. There she met Murph and she is now a mom. |

This is Gem. Gem is a Red Foot Tortoise. She came from a very loving keeper in PA who hated to part with her. Her previous keeper rescued her from a dealer in 2000. She was dehydrated and weak. She did well for 2 years. Then her shell was chewed on by the family dog. Her keeper took excellent care of the wounds and when she was almost healed I adopted her on 7/24/02. Her keeper wanted to make sure that she was never harmed by a dog again. She really is a little Gem! |

This is Dudley. He arrived on 10/24/02 from Alabama. He grew a little to fast. Dudley's keeper sent him to me because he could not get along with his pen mate Sal. Dudley has the best personality of any Red Foot I have seen. He loves to roam around and is very determined to fit into any space he wants. If he can't fit in front wards he will turn around and try pushing backwards. He has become my favorite (I know moms should not have favorites but he is just too cute). |

These 12 Ambos (Malayn Box turtles) were adopted thru Turtle Homes in April 2003. They were from a group of 500 turtles sized by the Hong Kong goverment. They were headed for the Asain food market. This photo is of them being soaked when they first arrived at my home.. They now live in a large enclosure with a pond. They spend most of there time in the water. They are very shy right now but hopefully they will come around as they get used to their new home. they love to eat water hycinth and fruit and veggies |
