Comments: I had to get this thing out of my sight or I'd go insane. Short
and makes little sense, but does cover some stuff. Next chapter will be
out..before the fourth of July. *nod* Got a few things else to say: To D, I
love your writing. I'm just too lazy to reply a lot. So keep up the good
work! ^_^ And this chapter is for anyone who still reads this. *laugh*

I finally found my way down to the building Kaoru's apartment was and
walked inside. The usual crowd of people were around and some from the last
"job" were down there. Some stopped to look at me as I made my way to the
elevator, I shot a look back at them and they turned away.

I took the elevator up to the apartment and knocked, wondering if he
was home. As I waited for some answer my thoughts traveled back to Toshiya.
I wondered if there was any way of getting him away from Die. He'd wasn't
safe around Die, he should be someone more gentle and nice..wait a minute,
why was I thinking about Toshiya?

The door was opened slowly and Kaoru peeked out. Before I could say
anything it was flung open all the way and I was crushed into a tight
embrace.
"Kyo! You're still alive!" he exclaimed holding me tightly. He
hurried me into the apartment and closed the door behind us. Kaoru kissed me
and I lightly pushed him away.
"Why didn't you save me?" I asked him and his face turned serious and
slightly sad.

"I did try and save you. I got you out of there, but Die..he shot me
in the back of the leg and knocked me out. When I woke up, you were gone.
I've been looking around for you for two weeks."
"I was gone for two weeks?!" I exclaimed staring up at him.

"You don't know how worried I was for you. I thought you could have
been dead." he softly said and brushed my bangs out of my face. I looked up
at Kaoru and moved away from him a little.
"Kaoru..when I was sorta..trapped at Die's home. Tot..I mean, Toshiya
was the one to get me out of there. Is there any way we could..go get him
away from Die? Cause Die did do some damage to me and who knows what kind of
abuse Toshiya will go through for letting me go." I explained quickly,
wringing my hands.

Kaoru was quiet for a while and then nodded his head. "I'll see what
I can do." said Kaoru and I smiled at him.
"Arigato Kaoru." I said gratefully and he leaned down to kiss me
lightly on the lips.
"Anytime, Kyo-kun." he said lightly and I laughed softly.

"Come on. I want to go to sleep. I feel kind of achy.." I said and
Kaoru lead me to the bedroom again.
"Kyo..what did Die do to you..?" he asked me as he closed the door
behind us. I bit my lip, what should I say? I didn't know what'd set off
Kaoru that he'd go crazy and try to kill Die himself.

"I..um..nothing, Kaoru. I'll tell you later. I'm feeling really
really tired." I said calmly and I stripped off most of my clothes, slipping
into bed. He climbed in next to me and wrapped his arms around me, pulling
me close.

Soon Kaoru was fast asleep and I stared into his face. For some
reason I felt a certain sense of longing..but it wasn't for Kaoru. I shook
my head and buried my face into the crook of his neck.
'Toshiya..what are you doing right now? Are you thinking of me
too?..' I mused quietly and yawned, falling asleep.

The next morning I woke up in the bed alone. I pouted slightly and
sulked. Kaoru was gone again, probably in his study. I got out of bed and
walked out of the bedroom. I peeked into his study, seeing Kaoru tapping a
pen on his desk with a phone to his ear.
"Hai..hai..Ando Daisuke. I need him out of Tokyo. I don't know! Make
up something! Send him anywhere out of the city limits for a few days." he
said frustrated then he threw the pen across the room.

I leaned against the doorframe and cleared my throat, gaining his
attention. He pointed at the phone and rolled his eyes. I bit my lip to stop
from laughing out loud, the look on his face was priceless. Kaoru finished
up his conversation and hung up the phone. I strolled into the study and sat
on the edge of the desk, brushing away a wisp of dark hair.
"So?" I inquired and peered over my shoulder at him. He shrugged and
a slight smirk played on that serious face of his.

"So what?" he teased and I rolled my eyes, trying not to look
frustrated with him. Kaoru saw the little sour look that crossed my face and
laughed a little. I glared at him and said, "Just tell me."

"Die will be called out to Osaka for business - alone. So we can go
'rescue' Toshiya." Kaoru said and I gave him my crooked little smile. He
stood up and lightly nudged me to get off his desk. I gripped the desk and
refused to move. Kaoru shot me a look then laughed.
"Don't make me carry you out of here." he said and I smirked at him.

"You can't make me move. So there." I said and stuck out my tongue at
him. He growled playfully and pried me off the desk, slinging me over his
shoulder.
"Come on, you baka. We're off to go rescue." he teased as he carried
me out.
