From One Couple To The Other

Part 6

Darkness, all around him, everything was just dark....dark
and gloomy. He was alone, as always....always alone. Alone in a crowd
of non caring humans, surrounded by teasing band mates. Only one
being nice and caring...the one on the other end of the hand that had
taken care of him.
Where was he now? He was lost...lost in a field of wild flowers,
pitch black flowers. Daisies, dark daisies that were laughing
endlessly at him. Over and over and over and over and over and over
and over....

Looking around, Shinya tried to find somebody, anybody who
could help him find his way home. He wanted to leave this place, it
felt...small. Like if there was invisible walls around him, crushing
his bones to the point of non existence.
It was also cold, freezing... The little drummer was shivering, he
wished he could be home. This didn't even feel like Earth, more like
a dream...or a nightmare. How could it be a nightmare? It was full of
wild flowers and nothing looked like it would stop him...its was just
the feeling, the feeling of emptiness...

Die isn't there...

He had been walking for hours now and he was tired. So tired
he could lay down and sleep, but something made him continue and
walk...walk, walk, walk, walk, walk...longer, faster, faster, faster.
Don't stop, never stop, not until you've found the exit. Must find
the exit, must go home, must see the others.

The others...they weren't there either, no one. Just himself
and his consciousness. But he didn't like it! Why? Why? WHY? He liked
to be alone! He really did! Toshiya being all over Die wasn't that
bad, he could find somebody else. Now that he thought about it,
Shinya didn't need the red headed guitarist, he was just a pass...a
bad one. One that made him do stupid things. Things that ended up
wrong all the time.

My hair...I cute my hair!

He made himself look more and more like Toshiya, Toshiya whom
Die liked. Toshiya who was perfect, Kaoru loved him too...he had to
be perfect! Toshiya, the beautiful bassist with the physic of a
woman. A model, a sweet caring perfect lady with a sens of fashion
without a flaw. A lady who moved gracefully and who played nice
music. Not a clumsy baby drummer who walked like a monkey.

I'm fit like a rock.

Shinya stopped. He didn't have to find a way out, nobody
wanted to have him back. Nobody needed him out, Toshiya could take
his place every time. Toshiya... Toshiya... TOSHIYA! The perfect
cutie pie, always in his way, always! How he hated him! But Toshiya
despised him too, he knew that. Shinya was always with his Kaoru. His
huh? My butt! He could go to hell for all he cared.

The young drummer sat by a tree and took a daisy into his
left hand. A perfect daisy... He pulled on it destroying every part
that seemed too beautiful to him. There Toshiya! Take that!
He threw the little flower away and hit the tree with his fist. He
was so frustrated, destroying Toshiya's face was the only thing that
could actually calm him for real.

Die eyed the drummer. When he had entered in his apartment,
he thought he had heard something knock or what ever...must be his
imagination. The guitarist closed the door putting his keys on the
little table near the front door. He took off his coat and his boots
and walked in the little living room. He sat down in front of his
friend drummer and looked at him in the eyes. Still dark...nothing
had changed.
Die sighed and took the white sheet that lay on the floor to put it
on Shinya's shoulders. He knew it was cold in his apartment, it
always was. Shinya moved his head a little to the side, his mouth
twitched.

"How odd...he moved for a change!" Die kneeled getting closer
to the young man. But his eyes hadn't changed, what was it? Was he
dreaming?
The guitarist brushed his fingers on Shinya's cheek. He shivered and
turned his face to get closer to Die's hand.

Die's eyes grew wider, was he going to wake up? Sitting down
on the floor again, the red head stared at the drummer. How come he
didn't seem like he was going to move? Die grunted.
He looked down on Shinya's lap, his fingers were closing slightly. He
lift an eyebrow and took that hand with both of his. He looked up
again. The drummer's hand closed in his and started shaking.

"Shin-chan?" Shinya yanked tears rolling down his
eyes. "Shinya! You're awake!" Shinya's eyed him. Die? What was he
doing here? Where was he anyway? Where were the laughing flowers and
the field...and the three?
Shinya stared down at his hand that was in Die's "protection" and
looked up glaring at him.
*************

A drink...that was a good idea, a drink! Maybe they could
talk and make peace or something like that. Toshiya didn't want Kaoru
to yell at him again because he was clumsy. He didn't like it when
Kaoru yelled, it screwed up his beautiful voice every time.

Kaoru had drunk already a couple of glass when Toshiya
finished his first, he wasn't going to have an another one anyway.
Somebody had to take the poor leader home and he didn't seem like he
would ever stop.
Toshiya laughed, that was Kaoru for you...drinking too much like
that. But Toshiya liked alcohol too, not that much maybe.

"You know Totchi..." Totchi...what a cute nickname, he liked
it. "It would be nice if you stopped daydreaming while we're
practising...I'd appreciate it a lot." Here we go again, how could he
stop daydreaming when his dream man was in the same room? If he
stopped, he would drool over Kaoru, that was even worse.

Toshiya put his hands on Kaoru's glass before he could refill
it, but Kaoru didn't stop making a big mess. He looked up at Toshiya
and grinned. "What is it? You want to tell me something?" Toshiya
couldn't believe Kaoru actually talked to him like that. He laughed
uncomfortably and looked away.
"Not really, I just wanted you to stop drinking. You had six glass
already." The older man glared at him. "I drink what I want!" And
refilled his glass, emptying it in one shot. "I thought you say one
drink..."

Kaoru glared at him even more and hit the table with both his
fits and then his head. He lift it up again, seeming unsteady and
smile clumsily. In one second, he returned to his previous glare. "I
said a drink! Didn't even give a number...wash your ears Totchi!"
Goodness...Kaoru was the worse drunk ever. The tall bassist had seen
him drunk before, but never that worse. Something was probably wrong,
but the leader would never tell him. Toshiya looked outside, maybe he
could go and help Die get Shinya out of it or something...

That's when he felt Kaoru's fingers on his face. Kaoru turned
the face of the beautiful bassist and pulled him closer to his
face. "You're with me, so look at me! I'm not going to let you go
before we've talked!" Toshiya blushed bloody red.
He knew it, he knew there was something wrong. But it was worse, it
was about him. Probably the way he played, or the fact that he had
found somebody to replace him since he was getting old and rusty. But
he was the newest member in the band, how could Kaoru do that to him?
Oh yeah...he was clumsy...

Kaoru shook his head again and looked up at
Toshiya. "Toshiya...I think..." Toshiya closed his eyes...what did he
think? That he should take a break? Leave the band? Practice more?
Just disappear into the air like if I never existed and look at the
band who'd earn more and more money because the new bassist actually
had talent and could concentrate all the time and was even more
attractive then him and...and...and...and... "...I love you..."
Toshiya's eyes grew wide, he couldn't believe what Kaoru had just
said. He loved him...he...loved...him...? Those words were abnormal
coming from the leader's mouth. And now he was smiling! Smiling
sweetly at him!

Every part of Toshiya's body started to shake harder and
harder every second. It's impossible, it as to be the alcohol or the
sun...or the lack of vacation. Something Kaoru had eaten that
morning. How could he be in love with him...he always yelled! All the
time Every time he made a little mistake, Kaoru was on his case.
Toshiya smiled to himself, of course...Kaoru doesn't love him, he
loves Shinya. Tears rolled down on his cheeks and he smiled to Kaoru.

The older man didn't understand what was wrong, what did he
say wrong? Why was Toshiya crying? He didn't want to make him cry,
maybe it was the fact that he had needed a drink to tell him. That he
wanted an easier way to admit his affection for the bassist. But
now...now the beautiful face of his bassist was drowned in tears.
"Kaoru..." The older man sat straight on his chair. He could only see
the tears...the tears rolling down and crashing on the black table of
the bar. Rolling...slower...and crashing...again and again.

"Kaoru...I don't think you should say such things after
you've drunk so much. You don't know what could happen afterwards to
you...and me." Toshiya stood up and kept smiling sweetly at Kaoru.
Kaoru just looked up, unbelieving.
"I should go." The tall bassist turned around and left the bar
without another word. The leader raised an hand to stop him, but no
word. He could only see the tears... Toshiya was leaving and he had
made him cry.

His hand slammed on the table making his glass fall on the
floor. It broke, like Kaoru's heart.

Well...that was easy. Hope you like it, there's not much after that.
Making up and hum...Die's time with Shin-chan (I like that part).
