Carolina Panther Rae Carruth
Rae Carruth was convicted in conspiring to kill Adams, who was pregnant with his son when she was fatally shot on November 16, 1999. He is serving a sentence at the Nash Correctional Institution in Nash County, about 40 minutes east of Raliegh, NC.

The former Carolina Panther wide reciever was sentenced to atleast 18 years and 11 months and a maximum of 24 years and four months after being convicted of conspiracy to commit murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and using an instrument with the intent to destroy an unborn child. He was acquitted of first degree murder in the shooting.

Why did he do this? Because he did not want to pay child support. Well his child did survive this viscious attack and suffers from cerebal palsy.  And this boy will grow up knowing his dad tried to kill him. You had everything going for you. You were an up and coming star and possible hall of famer. But you threw that away because you got greedy. You didn't want to pay for a son, who was yours. Well that son is alive and you will pay for this in more then one way. You have only yourself , your God and your son to answer to on this crime. When your child looks you in the eye and asks why you did this, I hope you look him right back in his little eyes and see the mother, the mother you killed. And if tears do not fall, may God have mercy on your cold, cold soul.
