Ok, I'll admit it.

I was not a big Elijah Wood fan before The Lord of the Rings came out.

Don't get me wrong. I mean, I've always thought he was cute and I've always loved those eyes, but his choice of roles just never impressed me.

One word, kids: Flipper.

But then, I saw the first installment to The Lord of the Rings trilogy and I became hopelessly hooked on Elijah. If you haven't seen the movies, stop reading this right now and go rent them, because you can't fully understand Elijah's wonderfulness until you have seen him as a hobbit. That sounded kind of weird, but it's true. And if you have seen the movies you know what I'm talking about!

I don't know where Elijah has been hiding this whole time, but I was totally blindsided by his talent and charm. I'm sure he's made some other good movies, but to me he had always just been the cute little kid on Forever Young. Now he's this spectacular actor with the most beautiful and expressive blue eyes that I've ever seen.

My little boy has grown up. *sniffle*

Not only do I love Elijah for his obvious hottie factor, but I really look up to him as an actor. Plus, from the articles/interviews/behind-the-scenes documentaries etc. that I have seen, Elijah seems like a great, friendly, down-to-earth kind of guy.

And besides that, we share quite a few similarities. For example: he likes girls with dark hair and accents, and I like *guys* with dark hair and accents. He was homeschooled, I was homeschooled. His birthday is the day after mine AND he was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa which is a mere 45 minutes away from where I used to live!

I think it was written in the stars, kids.
