ABOUT ME |
MELINDA MARTIN - LAIRD AGE 22 (VIRGO) JACKSONVILLE, FL USA I have been a dedicated Queen & Brian May fan for the past 14 years. When I was around 9 years old, my father sat me down & told me there was something I should listen to. He played "Good Company"(A Night At The Opera) for me as I looked through the album cover & read along with the lyrics. I had heard Queen songs before, but never knew them as "Queen." I was in love. After I had memorized A Night At The Opera, I moved on to other Queen albums my father had, got a few of my own. I was completely in awe of the incredible musical talents of Brian May more than anyone else. In my mind, Queen is heaven & Brian is God. On one of my many trips to the record store, I stumbled across an album of only Brian May. I must admit, I can't remember exactly what it was. I'm assuming, however, with my knowledge of his work, that it may have been Starfleet Project. When I returned to the shop later that week, it was gone. I searched through the cassettes hoping to find it, but I found Back to the Light instead. From that point on I became a "Mayniac." Over the years I've tried my best, with limited money, to collect everything Brian May & Queen related. It's become a great hobby/obsession. About 4 years ago I started this website with one page of a few pictures of Brian May. It has grown tremendously with the help of so many others. I have been so happy to find so many other fans out there. For a long time I was afraid I was one of the few people (the only my age) who had ever heard of Queen, let alone Brian May. The internet community has become such a dream come true. I am so happy to be a part of it. Thank you for visiting my site and taking the time to learn a little about me. Melinda Laird (keeper of Total Mayhem) *NEW* On February 16, 2002, I gave birth to a baby girl...Lillian Maude. She is already a devoted Queen & Brian May fan. |
