PART 11

Mana stepped cautiously into the entryway with Kozi close behind him. He had never been inside this castle before and was immediately struck by its beauty. Directly in front of the doors was an enormous staircase with red carpet running up the front. The stones and walls were all the same stone as the outside of the castle, but tapestries and enormous rugs were everywhere. It was not exactly to his taste, but it was still gorgeous.

He looked to his left. This led to a large library. All the walls were, from floor to ceiling, covered with bookshelves. All completely stuffed with books. He smirked, remembering sitting behind Gackt in his wingback chair was Gackt sat on the floor in front of him, Mana would stroke his hair and watch him read. He shook his head, clearing it of the thought. Gackt was the enemy now.

He looked to his right. This led to a dining room with a very long table down the center of the room. He wondered why Gackt wasted space with such a thing, he never used it anyway. Mana looked up the stairs, looking for Gackt.

"Mana."

Mana spun at the voice. Gackt was standing directly behind Mana and Kozi; he had just pushed close the double doors. How the hell had Gackt gotten behind him without Mana noticing? Mana snarled inward, he had taught Gackt too well. "You will let all the heat out." He said coolly.

Mana stared at Gackt with his face completely expressionless, a look that Gackt had grown used to seeing. "Where is Shinya?"

Mana was very calm, but Gackt was just as mellow, making Mana silently grit his teeth. "I don’t know where he is. Maybe he simply got away from you."

Mana almost shouted before he caught himself and spoke very quietly. "No one ever gets away from me."

Gackt chuckled and move seductively in front of Mana, running a finger along his jaw line. "Then who am I? Who is Shinya?"

Mana slapped the hand away. "You are no one. And you have stolen Shinya from me, he did not get away. I want him back."

Gackt waved his arm absently, walking into the library. He wanted to divert Mana away from the stairway, he didn’t know where Shinya was, but he would bet they were still upstairs.

J and Inoran shuffled Shinya into the bathroom at the end of the hall. This part of the castle was never used, and it showed from the thick layers of dust that covered everything.

The bathroom window above the bathtub was smashed from the wind of a recent storm and the floor was covered in layers of water that rushed in. Shinya shivered and wrapped his arms around himself. J and Inoran didn’t feel the cold, since they had cold blood and couldn’t feel the winter touch them. But Shinya shivered. J and Inoran both wrapped their arms around him; J with his arms clamping down Shinya’s, and Inoran’s arms went around his waste. Their bodies wouldn’t warm him, but they both wore warm clothes (that they thought extremely comfortable) and Shinya’s own body heat radiated back onto his body.

Shinya looked around. The room now looked slightly caked in mud from the wet dust and cobwebs had taken residence in the corners of the rooms. Large spiders rested. Shinya shivered. He hated spiders.

"They shouldn’t find us here. No one comes to this part of the castle." J tightened his arms to reassure the still-shivering Shinya.

"If you won’t tell us where he is I’ll just look myself. Mana rose to his feet and Gackt stayed sitting.
