The little maid, Toshiya, stood trembling behind the curtain at the back of Shinya’s room. The hair on the back of his neck stood on end as he watched Gackt fly out the window. What the hall had Gackt been doing in Mana’s castle!?

Toshiya had been in the middle of cleaning up a mess of rainwater from a window that had been left open. When Shinya woke up it had startled Toshiya. Shinya hadn’t noticed him when he first rose from the bed, but when Toshiya saw the blood stains on Shinya’s body he ducked back behind a curtain. To spare them both the embarrassment. He tried to leave again as soon as Shinya left the room but didn’t have time and became trapped.

Gackt had taken Shinya! Toshiya jolted out from behind the curtain and ran into the hall screaming. "Mana! Mana! It’s Shinya!"

The door to the study jerked open and Mana came towards him. "What? What about Shinya!?" He grabbed Toshiya’s arms painfully and shook him. Toshiya screamed and winced from the pain, unable to answer. Mana realized him and watched him stumble back. "Tell me!" His voice shook the candelabra above his head.

Toshiya panicked, he wanted to be tactful to calm down Mana but then blurted it out. "Gackt took Shinya! I just saw them fly out the window towards Gackt’s castle!"

Mana growled and came towards Toshiya quickly, wanting to lash out at someone in fury. Toshiya gasped and jumped back. Kaoru seemed to appear out of nowhere and jerk Toshiya off down the hall towards the servant’s quarters.

Mana was snarling as his hand clutched onto the balcony overlooking the downstairs.

"He’s gone?" Yu~ki appeared behind Mana and spoke so calmly that Mana spun on him. Yu~ki gasped when he saw that Mana was crying furious and sad tears.

"You…you’re crying!" He tried to hold Mana but he only growled and shoved him away. He crashed to the floor and stared off blankly.

He sobbed out, "Why…why can’t you love me!?"

Mana ‘woke up’ out of his angry trance and stared hatefully down at Yu~ki. "You want to know why!? Because you don’t love me! You say you do but you are using me! You trail after me when I go ‘hunting’ and watch me eat like you just want to shove me away, and take over. When I make love to you, you’re vacant, like you don’t even care! You don’t want me! You want to be a vampire, I don’t mean shit to you!"

Yu~ki sobbed, staring at Mana like he was insane. "You’re wrong! I-"

"I don’t have time for this!" Mana’s voice shook the walls. "I don’t have time for you! I have to get my Shinya back!"

Kaoru moved away from the door of the room that he and the rest of the maids shared. Toshiya was sitting on the bed sobbing violently into his hands. Die rubbed his palm up and down his back; trying to calm the hysteric Toshiya while Kyo had gone to retrieve a glass of water for him.

"Mana just left." Kaoru stated as the others watched him. "Ne, Toshiya why are you so sad? We didn’t even know Shinya."

"Don’t you get it? ‘Kill the messenger.’ It’s what Mana sama’s going to do!" Toshiya sobbed out. "He will come after me because I brought him the bad news!" Kaoru sank down beside Toshiya, praying it wasn’t true.

Kyo handed him the water.
