Ninjutsu- | |||||||||
Ninjutsu ( also called Shinobi-jutsu or Ninpo) is a collection of techniques originally practiced for espionage purposes. It includes methods of spying, confusing enemies, and gathering information. Ninjutsu can also involve training in disguise, escape, concealment, geography, meteorology, medicine, and explosives. Practitioners of Ninjutsu have in the past been seen, at least in legend, as assassins for hire, and have been associated in the public imagination with other activities which are considered criminal by modern standards. The character nin/shinobi means "steal in" or "endurance". Even though it was influenced by Chinese spying techniques, Ninjutsu is believed by its adherents to be of Japanese origin. It probably came into being sometime around A.D 600, while Empress Suiko Empress Suiko was the 33rd imperial ruler of Japan and the first woman to hold this position. Several of the principles of Ninjutsu are: -Taijutsu-Taijutsu is a method of using the body for self defence. Before there was Aikido, Judo, Karate etc, many believe there was the Japanese art of Taijutsu. Actually, Taijutsu is the collective name for any martial art that relies on body dynamics. In some lines of aikido the word taijutsu denotes all aikido work without weapons. Taijutsu is a martial art which may include strikes, kicks, joint locks, throws and many of the techniques found in the above mentioned (Aikido, Judo, Karate, etc), it depends on the particular ryuha. While most of its aspects appear external, the dedicated student will find many internal aspects as well. -Ninja Ken Ninja Swordsmanship-In the late part of the Koto period, around 700AD swords were imported from China, which had a characteristic tai chi straight sword to them. The ninja kept some parts of the straight sword design, but changed other characteristics of the sword. Where the Samurai sword relies heavily on slashing thus are curved, ninja swordsmanship relies more on stabbing. As the laws prohibiting war swords, and limited the public to only "bamboo" swords occured, the length of the ninja swords were shortened, for more pratical purposes. -Kayaku-Jutsu (firearms art) is the use of firearms, gunpowder and explosives especially by Ninja. The chapters or sections of ninjutsu devoted to the study of firearms and explosives. The history and mythology surrounding ninjutsu and kayakujutsu are similar to the history of chemistry and the mythology surrounding alchemy. Thus kayakujutsu mysticism refers to elements like the Earth (Chi) to develop Ka (Fire) just as alchemy referred to elements just as air, earth, fire and water. -Henso-Jutsu (Disguise and Impersonation) -Shinobi-Iri (Stealth and Entering Methods) -Sui-Ren (Water training) -Bo-Ryaku (Strategy) -Cho-Ho (Espionage) -Inton-Jutsu (Escape and Concealment) |

History- | |||||||||
With his childish antics, no one would suspect that Kaede is adept in the art of Kayaku-Jutsu, or firearm arts. Having been raised by a very workaholic, yet loving father, Kaede was inspired by his father's love for fireworks. He often helped his father out, which sometimes ends with a big explosion that rocked their side of town. Fellow villagers would sometimes drop by to see their new works, that made them feel proud of what they were doing. The local townsfolk grew fond of them because of their wacky disposition. Humor and his skills with fireworks gained him quite a number of friends and admirers. However, behind all the fun, lies a mystery that bothered Kaede. Sometimes, he gets disturbed from his sleep upon hearing his father sneaking downstairs. He would get up, and silently follow to eavesdrop on his father. He could only catch a phrase, since his father's guest only whispered, like "return with us", and "no truth can be hidden". It didn't bother Kaede at start, but since the last visit, Kaede's father became a little more strict, and introduced him to something he didn't expect. The art of Ninjutsu. At age 15, Kaede had finished his rigorous training in the basic principles of Ninjutsu, and showed average skills in Taijutsu, Ninja-Ken, Cho-ho, Inton-Jutsu, Bo-Ryaku, Sui-Ren, and Shinobi Iri. Kaede underwent extra lessons and proved to have exceptional skills in Henso-Jutsu, and of course, Kayaku-Jutsu. Upon the age of 16, Kaede has mastered all the principles of Ninjutsu that his father taught him. Yet, he felt that there was still something that was missing. By that time, the Toudou Academy was flourishing, and upon hearing this, Kaede asked his father that he be sent to Toudou. His father was hesitant at first, but after threatening to blow up the whole fireworks warehouse, his father gave in and granted Kaede's wish. |
