| Utena's parents died in a car accident when she was six. She nearly drowned in a river one day and was saved by a mysterious prince who gave her a ring and sends her letters every year. She lived with her Aunt Yurika until she transferred to Ohtori Academy, instead of Amsterdam, where her aunt went with Aoi Wakaohji, her aide, lover, and Utena's once prince-suspect. Utena left behind her friend Kaido, who pulled all the pieces together using the pictures on the postcards sent to Utena by her prince, to go to Ohtori. She now resides in the south dorm of Ohtori with the Rose Bride, Anthy Himemiya, and pet Chuchu. |
