Chapter 12

Lucky hung up the phone, and he was feeling guilty. He really wanted to see Elizabeth, but he didn't want to leave Emily in the dust either. Emily was the one who helped him get over the fact that his father raped his mother over 20 years ago. When Lucky wanted to move out, Emily was the one who made him understand it happened between his mom and dad, not to him. She made him see the reason her mom forgave Luke. She loved him. And even if he hurt her bad that night, they overcame it and built something beautiful out of it. So now, as she needed him, Lucky didn't want to leave Emily alone.

They went to the PC hotel, owed by Emily's family, to play in the pool for a while. It had been ages since Lucky got in a pool, and it was more bizarre knowing it was snowing outside. But they were having fun, splashing each other, racing, diving. They were alone, along with another young couple. Lucky drowned Emily a couple of times, and drank a large quantity of water too. After a while though, he was starting to be cold. They were on their way out of the pool when he saw Nikolas coming out of the Men's room. He cursed out loud. He really didn't want to see him today! Lucky was swimming towards the ladder, when he saw Elizabeth come out of the Ladies' room. Seeing her in her bathing suit, Lucky felt an uneasy sensation below his waist, and he pulled on Emily's arm.

"-I changed my mind, we don't have to go now. Lucky would be too embarrassed to get out of the water
-Are you sure?
-Yeah, I know you like Nikolas and you haven't seen him in a while
-Thanks Lucky, you're the best
-I know"

Lucky swam back to the middle of the pool. Nikolas jumped in the water next to Emily, as Elizabeth slowly got in the water, one foot at a time, staying 5 minutes on each step of the ladder. She was finally wet all the way to her waist, when Lucky swam to her, splashing all the way. Elizabeth threw her hands in her face, turning around, trying to minimize the cold water that was touching her.

"-DAMMIT Spencer will you quit it? Elizabeth said, looking mad
-Why? You come to a pool and don't wannt to get wet? Typical Cassadine stupidity!"

Elizabeth splashed him in the face, and Lucky went away from her. If he stayed too close, he would have to kiss her, and didn't want to lose his head in front of Nikolas and Emily and blow their covers. Nikolas was talking to Emily, as Liz was still trying to get used to the coldness of the water. Finally, Lucky saw her leaning back, getting all the way under water. She got up again, and passed both her hands in her hair, getting the water out of it. Lucky saw it get glued to her back, her long, brown hair, all wet and disciplined. He was about to go nuts with desire. He wanted to hold her close so bad, feel her wet body against his, kiss her wet lips. Instead of getting close, he went under water and swam as far as he could, all the way to the deep side of the pool. He would have to concentrate on not drowning, instead of concentrate on Liz's perfect curves.

He felt a hand on his shoulder, and he quickly turned around. Elizabeth was only inches away from him. He smiled at her, and he felt her hand take his under the water.

"-Sorry about that comment. She said
-Why? I know when your family or mine are close we have to be bitter. But I have to take it back, you are not stupid.
-I know you didn't mean it. Cassadiness are not stupid.
-Oh Cassadines are. But you are not. <
-Oh shut up! She said, splashing him"<

Emily and Nikolas saw them starting to wrestle, at the other end of the pool, and laughed.

"-You know, said Nikolas, as much as they bite each other's head off, I think they really like each other.
-I know! At the dance the other night,, they were all over each other!
-Why did you ask Lucky to the dance? AAsked Nikolas. He didn't want to know, but he had to find out
-Well, I didn't want to go alone, and LLucky is the only guy I can stand for more than 5 minutes. Other than you that is.
-Why didn't you ask me then?
-Well, after dropping a thousand hints to you that I was going to go alone and you still didn't offer to come with me, I thought you had something better to do than to take me to a kid's dance
-Emmy, it's not my school, so it wasn'tt my place to invite you. Although I would've liked to go with you.
-Really? Emily just lost it, like everry time he called her Emmy, the nickname he gave her
-Really."

Nikolas leaned down, but heard a splash not to far from them. They both looked and saw Lucky and Elizabeth. They swam back near them, and Lucky was pushing with his two hands to drown Elizabeth.

"-I'll be right back, I think my sister needs help."

Nikolas swam over to where Lucky and Elizabeth were, and stood there, watching Lucky trying to struggle to get Liz under water, but she just wouldn't budge.

"-Need help here? Asked Nikolas
-Get that maniac off of me! Said Elizaabeth, laughing"

Nikolas, without saying anything, pushed Lucky away, took Elizabeth in his arms, and threw her the farthest he could in the water, getting her to scream before falling in.

"-There! Nikolas said, that's how you do it.
-NIKOLAS!!! Said Emily, outraged. You said you had to help your sister!
-I didn't say my sister, I said my siblling
-You said sister!
-I said sibling!"

Emily didn't see Lucky point her with her chin. She just felt two arms taking her by the elbows, as Nikolas took her legs, and they threw her only two feet away from where Elizabeth landed. The two guys wiped their hands, like after a job well done. Nikolas and Lucky looked at each other, and, in a silent agreement, dived under water in direction of the girls. They heard them scream. Lucky came up in front on Elizabeth, while Nikolas pulled on Emily's ankles, getting her head under water again. Lucky took advantage of the fact that both Emily and Nikolas were struggling under water and gently kissed Elizabeth. She kissed him back, before pulling away. Lucky splashed her and stopped, thinking about something.

"-What are you guys doing here? Isn't this pool for paying customers only?
-Well, I wanted to do something I don'tt usually do at this time of year, and Nikolas thought about going swimming. So he called Katherine Bell, and she wrote our names as her guests. That way, we are allowed in the pool!
-Well, I wasn't complaining.
-That's a first! Lucky heard behind hiim. You normally complain when you have to share your breathing space with a Cassadine, let alone two!
-Nikolas! Elizabeth said. Don't startt! We are having fun, and we left our differences at the door for today all right?
-Ok, I'm sorry! Said Nikolas
-WOW! Lucky's eyes grew large, and he pointed at Elizabeth. You have to teach me how you did that!"

Nikolas splashed his brother and swam away, getting Lucky to chase him. The girls laughed and ran after them. Elizabeth jumped on Lucky to defend her brother, trying to make him trip by hitting his legs. Nikolas tried to help Elizabeth, and Lucky called for Emily to help him and the girl jumped on Nikolas' back, pulling him away from Lucky. Nikolas took her arm and passed her over his shoulder, her back hitting the water, and he drowned her. Lucky was still fighting with Elizabeth, and Nikolas came to her rescue, drowning his brother took by surprise. Liz turned against Nikolas, and tried to drown him, only getting her to drink some of the pool's water.

They finally decided to leave the pool, after Nikolas asked them all to dinner, his treat, right here at the PC grill. They swam to the nearest ladder, and Nikolas got out first, followed by Emily. Lucky let Elizabeth pass in front of him but, as soon as she was half- way out, he pulled on her waist, getting her to fall in the water again.

"-That's enough you two! Said Nikolas, getting in the men's room"

Lucky saw Emily get in the ladies' room, and he took Elizabeth close to him. "-Finally! He said"

She put her lips on his, feeling his hands on her waistband. Lucky reluctantly pulled away, after kissing her one last time, a long, tender kiss.

"-This will be harder than I thought! Said Lucky
-Tell me about it!"

Elizabeth got out of the water, followed by Lucky. Between the two rooms she pulled him close one last time, putting her head on his shoulder for a second, while he gently stroked her hair. Liz took his mouth to hers, and they separated, knowing next time they would see each other they would have to act like friends.
