Chapter 26

Ever since Lucky donated his kidney to Stefan all these months ago, when Nadia showed up with Jordan, his relationship with Elizabeth had finally been accepted by their family, and Luke grew rather fond of the girl. For her birthday, she wanted the two families to come together for a day of fun under the sun.

"-Jordan, I don't know if you remember the fireworks on the fourth of July, but if not, you'll definitely see some today"

They were ready. Lucky went downstairs and Laura was finishing to fill the picnic basket. They were meeting the Cassadines and Emily in 15 minutes. When the Spencers arrived, the Cassadines were already sitting down and playing a game of cards on the blanket. Elizabeth got up and kissed Lucky, before kissing Jordan. The baby cried to go in her arms, and Lucky laughed.

Laura took the food out, and Stefan did the same with his basket.

"-What's this? Asked Stefan
-It's called a sandwich Vlad. Answered Luke
-I know what a sandwich is, Poindexter, said Stefan, but what's inside?
-Bologna and cheese said Laura, laughingg at their bickering."

They ate, laughing and playing. Luke and Stefan were bickering, but not enough to make the others uncomfortable, but enough to make them laugh and choke on their food. After lunch, Elizabeth asked if they could play games.

"-Well, ask the game expert, said Lucky. Nikolas? What do you want to play? -I thought about that, answered Nikolas,, getting Emily, Elizabeth and Lucky to laugh, and I brought a football.
-FOOTBALL! Said Lucky, excited
-Who wants to play?
-I do! Said Luke, getting up
-Stefan? Come on, play with us! Elizabbeth, you play too
-And Emily, she will play too! Said Nikkolas
-I don't play, said Laura, someone has tto watch the kids
-You and Lulu can be our pompom girls, ssaid Luke with an evil grin
-Yeah, that's it Luke, live in your fanttasy world -Keeps me alive from my everyday nightmaare"

Lucky and Nikolas were captains, and the teams were Lucky, Luke and Elizabeth against Nikolas, Emily and Stefan. Lucky was talking with his teammates, saying he would be the quarterback, Elizabeth would give him the ball, and Luke would be the runner. Elizabeth took position, both of her hands on the ball, leaning forward, and Lucky took position behind her, putting his hands between her legs to catch the ball.

"-I changed my mind. Dad, you be the QB, said Lucky, getting up but not before he made sure to run his thumb on her intimate place between her legs
-DON'T YOU START THAT AGAIN! She said, hitting him on the shoulder one time for each word
-Bite me! Lucky answered, laughing
-Be careful what you wish for, it might come true next time we are alone"

Luke was laughing, both his hands on his thighs. They were cracking him up big time. Nikolas, Stefan and Emily were looking at the three of them laughing, in the dark about what was so funny.

"-Hey Stiffen, are you sure she is not a long lost Spencer? Luke asked
-Did you just call me Stiffen? Asked Sttefan, smiling
-What? No! I said Stefan! You are lossing hearing there Vlad.
-You'd like that if she was a Spencer woouldn't you? Answered Stefan
-Yeah, I'll trade ya. My oldest son forr your youngest daughter.
-I RESENT THAT! Said Lucky. Now, let'ss play ball! "

They took position again, Luke excusing himself to Liz about where he was putting his hands, getting her to giggle. Lucky was in front of Emily, growling like a dog, while the girl was looking at him like he was nuts.

"-Wait! Said Lucky
-What now? Asked Elizabeth, staying in the same position, both her hands on the football.
-Don't forget to count 3 hippopotamuses Lucky said to Nikolas
-What? ELEPHANTS! Hippopotamuses is tooo long! We'll count 1 elephant, 2 elephant, 3 elephant before going after you guys
-All right."

Elizabeth gave the ball to Luke and he threw it to Lucky. Nikolas was on his tail and he tackled him to the ground only feet away from the touchdown line. They took position again. This time, Luke pretended to throw the ball, but ran with it instead. He was tackled by Emily but he was already in the touchdown zone. Lulu was jumping up and down on the side, sometimes rooting for her father's team, sometimes for her bother's.

Elizabeth gave the ball to Stefan and he took the same position she had a couple of minutes ago. He gave the ball to Nikolas, but he was tackled almost right away, (after the three elephants of course) by Elizabeth. Next time, Lucky touched Emily and she was out. The girls had the right to tackle the guys, guys tackled guys, but the boys only touched the girls.

Nikolas' team lost the ball to Lucky's, and they took position, Elizabeth being the quarterback this time. Lucky thought she wouldn't be able to throw the ball right, but she wanted to show him she was as good as anyone. When the ball landed in Lucky's arms he thought "Boy, she CAN throw". His mind was elsewhere when he heard "LUCKY WATCH OUT".

He saw Jordan in the middle of the field, directly in his path. He just had time to jump over the boy's head, landing flat on his face. Jordan laughed to see his dad leap over him, but Lucky got up. He didn't find that funny at all.

"-MOM! Lucky said, I thought you were supposed to watch him!
-I was! I just left my eyes off of him of one millisecond to check on Lulu! -Can't find good help these days! Luckyy said, smiling. Lulu, wanna make 5$ quick?
-YEAH!"

Lucky went to the picnic basket, took the bag with Jordan's favorite cereal, took the boy by the waist with his other arm, and went over to Lulu.

"-Sit down please. The girl obeyed. Now, he said, sitting the boy on her, you give him ONE cereal at a time. Only one. That will last the rest of the game and as long as you have them, he will stay put. Lucky gave him the bag with the fruit loops inside"

He smiled at his sister, and went back in the game. Luke had the ball, before getting tackled by Stefan. The two men were on the ground, Stefan had landed sitting on Luke, but he wasn't getting up.

"-That's ok, undertaker, said Luke, you can get up now
-Do I really have to? I find you ratherr comfortable
-Yeah that's what my wife always tells mme, now off!"

Lucky and Nikolas were nearly rolling on the floor with laughter. Elizabeth was smiling form ear to ear. This was her best birthday ever. Luke went over to his truck and put a tape in, blasting his speaker at maximum capacity. Emily and Elizabeth were dancing, holding hands, and Nikolas joined them. Lucky laughed and said they had a game to finish, but neither of them listened.

Stefan went and sat by the kids, eating the cereal out of Jordan's hand before the kid could put it to his mouth, getting him to laugh hard. Luke sat next to Laura, and looked at his enemy with his grandson. He was hurt, even though he didn't want to show it. Damn, he was living with the kid, but every time Stefan was close, everyone else became ancient history even the kid's own father. But Luke took comfort knowing he had something Stefan would never have. Laura.

"-Thank you so much guys! Elizabeth said, this was the best birthday ever, I can't thank you enough. I know it was hard on you
-It was my pleasure angel, said Luke, I''m a sucker for women with beautiful eyes like yours
-Dad, since when the eyes are below the neck? Asked Lucky and Luke ran after him
-Luke's right Elizabeth, said Stefan it''s the least we could do for you. Besides, we'll go back to our war, which I'll win, tomorrow
-Like hell you are, said Luke, wait tilll you see my next move
-Oh and what is it? Remember, you can ttell me, we are not enemies today
-Well in that case, said Luke, sitting ddown next to Stefan, I am planning to have you tarred and feathered. After that, I will drag you in the middle of the town and make you dance the disco"

Stefan choked on a piece of cereal, and Luke patted his back.

"-Hey don't die on me, I won't get to do my brilliant plan"

Everybody laughed. It was really the funniest day they had in a really long time.
