Current gear: a Warrior 5 string bass, Peavey power amp,a Mackie 1400i power amp, a Peavey Palaedium 4 string bass, Peavey 410 and 115 cabinets, a boss compressor, an ART Levelar, an EBS octave pedal, a Boss CEB-1 chorus pedal, a boss EQ-20 pedal and a Beringer aural exciter. Likes: I love alaskan snow crab legs, blues, acoustic rock and folk music, anything by Phil Keaggy, Better Than Ezra, Sheryl Crow, Sixpense None The Richer (whom i've known personally for about 5 years), & Rebecca St. James. I like to play baseball/ softball and I spend time at batting cages practicing. I like to waterski and actually had a chance in 1991 and 92 to ski in the world circuit, but went on tour in Europe instead. Dislikes: Obnoxious musicians and celebrities. It is the fans that make the star. All talent aside, if you do not make money for "The Man" you have no value in our society. I have met some of the most talented people who either never got the chance or was too afraid to try. Influences: WOW! i would have to list a lot of people from so many different facets of life! --My dad for teaching me to work hard no matter what the pain.-- All of the people that told me i couldn't. --Wade Jaynes, Phil Keaggy, JJ Plascinio, Sam Hernandez, Buddy Guy, Gene Simmons, Reo Speedwagon, Bob Seegar, and so many others! Currently listening to: a differnt blues cd each day, Third Contacts Ep, P.M.Blues, some classic rock. Current books you've read: The Mark by Tim LaHaye, The Chamber by John Grisham, Bass Player mag, Gig mag, and teaching materials. Favorite TV: right now i would have to say JAG, Judging Amy, Friends, Law & Order, Law & Order SVU. Favorite food: alaskan snow crab legs!!! Life Philosophy: Slow down and pay attention! Life is way too short and when you realize that- it is too late. Don't be so involved with yourself that you cannot take the time to notice others. Favorite quote: If you're living like there is no God ... you'd better be right!! Favorite blues story: I guess one day John Lee Hooker walked into a studio where he was supposed to be recording an albumn. He walked up to the producer and said. "You the Producer?" To which the man replied, "yes, i am." "Good!" John said, "Produce me a bottle of whiskey!" That would have to be my hands down favorite story of all times. |

MY HISTORY | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
i am a professional bassist and i love my job! you can read more about my career by going to my "BIO" page on this website. I have always known that i wanted to be a musician since i was a child. But never was encouraged to pursue it until 1989. I was raised to be into more "masculine" ventures and wanted to be a professional quarterback in the NFL. Unfortunately, i was 5 foot 6 inches and weighed 105 lbs when i graduated high school! Needless to say football was not a reality for me even in school. i was on the wrestling team and was fairly good. I did have some musical training in my childhood, playing alto sax in the school band, i taught myself to play the guitar and played it at church in high school, took a few paino lessons in Jr High, mostly so i could hang out in town for an hour and a half after school! i missed more practices than i made! But i paid for them all! In 1992 I toured the UK with a band from Montana. We were in MT for 4 weeks before and 2 weeks after the tour, and we were overseas for 6 weeks. While i was there i really spent time getting into the bass and realized how well it fit my musical tastes and philosophies. |
