The M'Haels


Since the founding of the Black Tower one hundred and seven years ago there have been three M'Haels. The first M'hael was Mazrim Taim he's also the only M'hael ever to be stripped of his title. Most of the records on him have been destroyed although it is known he turned to the Shadow taking almost a third of the Asha'man with him. It is believed that he later became on of the Forsaken although there is no real evidence to support this. The second M'Hael was Logain Ablar he ruled for just just over three years he was responsible for the current relationship between Aes Sedai and Asha'man. He was killed during Tarmon Gaidon. The third M'hael is Malek Sursu he has been M'Hael since Tarmon Gaidon. It was him and Egwene Al'Vere that decided to build the Towers in Al'Har Aman





The Story of Malek





Malek was born in Fal Dara one hundred and twenty years ago. He was the son of a Soldier by the name of Iseor Sursu. Malek got his first sword at nine. Once he was sixteen he became a Soldier he spent his time in the army and found strange things happened around him. He started to notice how people would always agree with him about anything important most peole dismissed this. When he was nineteen he heard of the forming of the Legion of the Dragon. He decided to join the Legion of the Dragon when he got to Andor he was taken aside by a man in a black coat and asked to concentrate on a flame. The man then told him he could Channel and would need to join the Black Tower if he wanted to learn. Malek was quickly raised to Dedicated and full Asha'man. It was said that he was as powerful as Taim himself if not more powerful. He fought at Dumani Wells. He fought often against both Shadowspawn and Seanchan. He was in the party that captured Taim this earned him many honours and marked him as one of only twelve who knows the truth behind the stories that Taim was one of the Forsaken. He was in charge of one of the units that traveled with Rand to Shol Ghul.

After Tarmon Gaidon five high ranking Asha'man claimed the title of M'Hael. A war followed that lasted thirty six years. In the end Malek won with the aid of the Amyrlin Seat Egwene Al'Vere. It was then that the idea of building both Towers in one city was devised. Al'Har Aman was chosen for it's symbolic importance. It took fourteen years for the Ogier to finish building the Towers. After they were finished Egwene stepped down as Amyrlin Seat. Cabriannae Mikoy was rose soon after and has been Amyrlin since.
