Devane Livelle |

Devane Livelle was born in north-western Amadicia and lived there until she was ten. The nearest village was over a day away. Her family had died from a plague leaving only her eldest brother, Evon, and herself alive when she was eight. Evon was eight years older than she and he believed that the plague was sent by Darkfriends, as such he joined the Whitecloaks. He tried his best to support his younger sister but as she got older he stayed away longer. He came back faithfully to the farm and told her that he had some leave time and was going to take her north to live with a great-aunt of theirs. They went north and found their great-aunt, Silia in Arringill. Silia who was a Wise Woman there took the girl in without question. Silia was young looking even with the white in her hair. Devane felt a kindred spirit within her. Silia began teaching the girl how to read, write and on the use of herbs. And gave Devane the love of books that she has. She also gave Devane much of her personality. Silia was always to the point and sometimes outright blunt. But she also always told Devane that some things should be kept to herself and not to be too blunt and to use tact. Devane was always looking to rediscover lost knowledge. Once she had heard of a statue two days north of Arringill and left in search of it. Silia caught up with her a day later. Devane could barely contain her excitement of hearing of the statue that Silia decided to go with her. Once they reached there they found nothing but boulders which both agreed could be anything. As they rode back to Arringill, Silia fell from her horse and broke her hip. Devane made a litter up for Silia and they made it back to Arringill. Devane took care of her for another year until Silia was on her deathbed. Then Silia asked her to fetch a ceramic canister which she'd never let Devane touch as a child. Silia opened the canister and showed the girl a ring. A gold ring with a serpent biting its own tail. Devane thought of all the horrible things she had heard as a child and instantly dismissed them after knowing Silia. Silia told her that she had been an Accepted but was a Wilder. She could never break her block but knew still much of it. Silia then told Devane that she had the spark. Silia made Devane promise that she would go to The White Tower when she died and then spoke of her times there and she spoke of the Ajahs. Silia died many days later and Devane got on her horse and never looked back. She had already decided on the Ajah that she would choose. The Brown. Devane couldn't remember her trip to Arringill. As it turns out, her brother Evon can channel. She witnessed his murdering of the village near where they had grown up (her brother believed that they were the ones who sent the plague). He then channeled a gateway and placed a compulsive weave upon Devane to make her forget the incident. Thanks to an Asha'man, he cut the weave and she now remembers. Devane now has an intense dislike (bordering on hatred) for the Children of Light. In more recent history, Devane was thought to have died during Tarmon Gai'don. She 'died' rescuing the people, books and objects of power of Tar Valon. She had opened up a Gateway to let them go through but before she herself could go through she was hurt. As such, no one found her body. She had sustained some hurt during the struggle and had amnesia. Recently, however, a couple of friends have helped her regain her memory. Devane spent a little less than a year as a Novice and two years as an Accepted. Profile: Long reddish-brown hair, almost Auburn. Green eyes. About 5'5" and slim about 100 pounds. She is considered at the least pretty. When Devane had been refound she still had the Three Oaths on her. Since she appears to be in her early thirties. |
