Moirana Oruthy

She is from Elmora in Tarabon.

the youngest of ten children of a tarabon merchant called Naim Oruthy, Moirana was 6 years younger than her closes siblings so by the time she was growing up they had mostly left or were busy with helping their father. She was so often alone that she learnt to amuse herself, developing a love of reading, often forgetting to eat or sleep when she was immerced in her own little world.

It was discovered that Moirana had the spark on a routine testing of girls by an Aes Sedai and she was sent to the tower by her proud parents Naim and Farvia.

She spent four years as a novice and six years as an accepted before being raised to the shawl. She is a fairly young sister, having only been raised about two years ago. She is now about 26 years old but looks younger.

Moirana is a typical Brown Sister. She often has an ink smudge somewhere on her face or hands, She is usually so caught up in her studies that she forgets to eat or forgets where she is. Her mind is often elsewhere and she has a habit of getting lost in the library.

However her mind is formidable and she has a calm nature even under stress and pressure. She also acts as the Assistant Mistress of Novices under Sanlinae Sedai.
