Mathek Tanair
Mathek grew up on a farm in the two rivers with his father, mother, and younger brother. Being the oldest brother meant Mathek always had to do more chores on his family's farm. At the age of thirteen a harsh winter struck upon his families farm. The bordering towns were hit with a massive famine. Watching everyone he loved starve theirselves to death would not help Mathek's cause. His parents would go days without eating just to keep food on the plates of Mathek and his younger brother.
Mathek ran away after living through half the winter watching his parents starve. In order to make ends meet Mathek would join any army that would hire him. Being on a farm he naturally could make good use of a quarterstaff. The jobs were scarce and in between Mathek would pick up any weapon he could to train. Mathek would come and go out of any soldier of fortune army that would hire him, even with his little training in real weapons. In between armies he would pull of other jobs as a body guard for those who wished his services. In one such job he ended up with a scar over his right eye.
When Mathek was twenty he ran into a man named Zeak who hired him into his soldier of fortune army. Due to a conflict of interests Mathek left shortly thereafter and would spend the following years looking for any excuse to exact a cold and cutting revenge upon Zeak.
