a steel ring about one inch in diameter, located on the floors, walls, ceilings or furniture.  It is a secure  area where a slave girl can be chained or bound to it.  Even a Free Companion might sometimes find herself chained to such a ring.  It may be as punishment or simply to remind her that she is a woman and thus to be dominated.  It is also known as a slave ring.
a device that is used to lock a girl's ankles in wooden stockage.  Often used on girls who are repeated runaways, they might be held in place to have their tendons cut or feet amputated.
beaded cuffs worn by the Red Savages slaves about two inches in height.  Please also refer to bangles.
bands of gold and silver that decorate a slave's arm, some are studded with stones. They are worn tightly on the upper arm.

Buttons




bands of gold and silver worn on a girl's ankles and wrists.  They are worn in groups to accentuate a dancer.
the bark of the inside of the pod tree that is dyed scarlet then pounded into cloth.  It is similar to Earth's burlap but softer.  It is often used for a hip wrap for slaves.
a chain that fits around a slave's waist that is heavily padlocked at the back with a medallion like metal disk with a kef; located at the front of the chain.  It is often not removeable due to the width of a slave's hips.
twine that is made from stripes of leather or a fibre similar to Earth's hemp.  It is often used as a belt for a slave's tunic.
a strap commonly used in binding the wrists or ankles of slaves and prisoners.  The strap is approximately 3/4 of an inch in width and 18 inches in length.
a piece of jewlery worn by a slave.  It is made of plain metal, coloured beads of cheap glass or wood and coloured string.
a dark thick cloth that is three to four inches in diameter split into two seperate round pieces.  It is made of a soft felt and when turned  several times it ties behind the head of the slave to halt the vision, usually  it is secured with a tie or scarf.
a chain approximately five feet in length used to secure a slave.  It is tightly meshed with some being decorated with wooden beads or stones of semi percious value.  It contains a lock and can be used for slave jewlery or restraint.
a knot that is tied into a slave's hair.  There are two meanings to the use of this knot.  It is located either by her right cheek or before her right shoulder.  If a slave approaches a Master and kneels before Him naked, knotting it herself she begs for His use.  If a Master ties the knot during time of battle making it known that she is His and left behind.
a device that a slave is chained to so that she may be branded.  Her hands are chained above her head whilst her thigh is secured in a large vice allowing her body to move.
most garments are void of any type of buttons and may be fastened with hooks, broaches or pins.  Buttons are considered sensuous on Gor and not used on the garments of Free Persons.

Curla

a wagon with bars surrounding it that is used in the transportation of slave's both male and female.  The bars may vary in strength depending on the cargo that is transported.  Male slaves are often chained at the neck, wrists and ankles within stalls.
a cloth that has a slit for the head of a slave to pass through with slits on the sides.  It is held in place by a cord tied tightly about the waist of the slave.  The hem is approximately level with the bottom and groin area of the slave so that the flesh  is fully accessible at all times.
a garment worn by slaves within the city of Turia.  It consists of  a cloth in the shape of an inverted 'T' that fastens behind the slave's neck and falls in front of the wearer.  The crossbar passes between the legs of the slave and is brought forward tightly at her hips and secured by a cord that binds at the back of the neck, at the front of the waist and behind her back.
Warrior's use this to capture a slave or enemy.  It is recongized by its unique bindings or turnings that are tied by the Warrior.
an anesthetic that renders the victim unconscious.  It is used by soaking a cloth and held over the mouth and nose or by a dart being  injected into the victim.
used in Tyros, only described as a slave grab.
pants that are made of silk and are baggy worn by the slaves of the Tahari.
a strip of leather, black in colour to be worn like breech cloth over the curla by slaves of the Wagon Peoples.  It is worn in combination with the kalmak and koora.  The kalmak is a leather vest and the koora; a type of headband, red in colour.  The chataka is approximately five feet in length by six inches in width.
a phrase within the Wagon Peoples referring to the articles worn by slaves.  These being the curla, chataka, kalmak and koora.
chains that are used in the capture of Free Women.  They are worn on the ankles with four inches of chain between the shackles.
an iron or steel collar that is fitted about the neck of a slave.  Often hinged and riveted closed or secure with a lock.
a collar that is made of colour beads and knots; designed by individual Masters of the Red Savages.
Various types of steel collars with rings front or back that hooks to 3 to 4 feet of chain between them.  Some are hinged in the back.
a chain that is looped and controlled by two wooden handles to block off the slave's air supply with ease as a measure of control.
a collar made from the rence plants in a cord like fashion.  Worn by rencer slaves with a small disk to identify the Owner.
a collar that has a chain of light weight attached to set off the dancer.  A common type of collar consists of a large oval chain to which wrist cuffs and ankle cuffs are attached.
a leather collar which is used for identifying Kur slaves.  The collar is high and locking.
a collar made of leather with a leash attached so that it may be used when a slave is to be led.
a collar that is hinged and can easily be removed with a key.  They are made usually of flat stock 1 1/2 to 2 inches in height and worn by trainedslaves. The lock is made with one pin for each of the letters in the word 'kajira'.
a collar that is made of thick black leather worn by slaves to convey messages.  The collar is sewn about the slave's throat and fashioned by Turians.  The message is written on a small piece of rence paper then rolled and placed inside of the collar and sewn closed.  More often than not the slave does not have knowlege that her collar is holding the message nor its contents.
a collar made of black iron with a single iron ring that is used in chaining.  The collar is riveted around the neck of the slave; usually used on bond-maids.
a collar used on slaves made of heavy wooden planks with five semicircular openings.  The plank is chained down and when lifted provides holding collars for five slaves.  Slaves are confined to benches and each place on the bench is fitted with ankle and wrist stocks and a plank collar.  The plank collar opens horizontally, each half contains five sturdy enclosures for the throats of slaves forcing the slave's chin to lift high.  The plank has a narrow curved iron band that opens at each end with slits that are slid tightly into the slots.  Each slot is reinforced between each girl securing a place by a four inch metal pin that may be locked into place.
a flat stock collar; usually worn by untrained slaves that is secured by hammering it about the slave's neck.
a collar that is temporary to show that the slave girl is part of the cargo.
a sleeve that goes around the collar; normally matching the attire of the slave.  It is made of cloth.
a collar made of four strings looped.  Each is differently knotted by the Master to identify the slave's Owner.  Worn by the slaves of the Red Hunters.
a collor used in the transportation of a slave with a metal tag attached.  The tag lists the destination or information of the slave.
a slave collar that is cylindrical in style.  It fits loosely than that of the standard lock collars enabling it to turn about the wearer's neck with ease.
used to enhance the beauty of a slave, they include lipstick, rouges and powder.  Free Women do not use cosmetics as a normal practice.
a waist cord red in colour worn by slave girls of the Wagon Peoples.

a chain used with dancing.  The slave is secured within the bracelets to which a light chain is attached; the chain is then looped through a ring in her collar.  The chain passes then through the loop to a wrist ring that is fastened onher right wrist; the chainis then fastened to this and loops up and down gracefully ascending to a wider chain ring on her collar.  The chain then passes throught to the left wrist ring, looping downward then again upward.  The slave when standing motionless with her palms to her thighs allows the lower portions of the chain to hang just a bit higher than her knees in two graceful loops.
small cages that are fastened to the deck of a ship to transport slaves not kept in the cargo hold.
a band two inches in width that is shaved into the hair of men captured by Panther Girls or Talunas.  The band runs from the man's forehead to the nape of the neck.
chains fastened tightly about slaves who are to be sold in groups.  The chain allows the slaves to be spaced so that they may easily be displayed.
a wagon used in the transportation of female slaves.  The wagon is flat bedded and made of a metal frame allowing slaves to be chained in positions that may be alluring and easily viewed by any that pass.  Often the end of a wagon is used as an auction block allowing slaves to be sold directly from the wagon.

a leather cylinder that is attached to a slave's neck by a string over the slave's collar.  This is used to send messages or to carry notes.

Slave are never given footwear so shoes or sandles are not used for slaves in Gor.  Often a cord of binding fibre or some type is wrapped decoratively about the ankles and claves of the slave.
This type of chaining is more complicated then the others used in Gor.  A slave will wear ankle and wrist rings which two chains will be attached to, the wrists and ankles then will be joined together by eighteen inches of  each chain.  The left ankles will then be joined to the left wrist then the same of the right ankle and wrist.  This does not hinder the slave from serving in a normal capacity.
A sedative that is given to the victim by injection.  It is used during the Voyages of Acquisition to render the barbarians captured from Earth unconscious.

is a leather wadding that is heavy and rolled, pushed back behind the slave's teeth and over the tounge.  It is secured into place by a broad strap that covers the mouth with three smaller straps that are attached to it to secure tightly behind the slaves head.
a narrow chain that will choke the victim without cutting the throat.  It can be adjusted by spinning one of the wooden handles and allowing the chain to be controlled with one hand.
a narrow piece of wood that has holes drilled into the middle and each of the ends.  To secure a slave by pushing a thong through the holes and about the slave's neck then attaches it to her wrists.

Hunter's Catch
a slave's hair is drawn into a ponytail and tied with a ribbon or wooden fillet, this is used to lead her by the Master if He so wishes or to control her movments by pulling on it.
a silk garment that is worn by dancers.  It is much like a square that is hooked and drawn high on the slave to accentuate her beauty and to bare her belly.
this consists of four positions, it is named after the Slaver, Harl of Turia.  The first position consists of a metal ring that is snapped to the slave's ankle, then the second positions consists of a closed welded loop to the back of the ankle ring, the third position consists of a yeard of chain secured to a closed welded loop on the front of the ankle ring, the fourth position consists of the chain ending device that locks to a second ankle ring at the back of it.  It is used to secure a slave to almost any item such as a tress, and one key will work on all Harl rings within that chain.
leather cuffs that contain locks and snaps on them.  The locks contain no need of a key and made of a soft leather that allows the slave to be secured in various ways.
a garment used by slaves that is made of netting.

An anklet that has the slave's identification number engraved upon it and  is used on slaves that are stolen from Earth.  Once the slave is delivered to the palce on Gor it is removed and replaced with a collar.
a silver bracelet that is used in lieu of a collar that is attached to the wrast of a slave and containing information of the Owner inscribed upon it.
a metal bar or strap that snugly encircles a slave's waist with a vertical compnent attached to the front of this bar with a hinge. A strap of metal then is placed between the slave's legs and secured to the back with a padlock.  This ensures that the slave will not be used sexually unless in possession of the key.  This is similar to a chasity belt.
a retention facility that is in a Slaver's House where slaves are kept for training or prior to sale.

a headband that is worn by work slave and often can denote a slave girl that is with authority over other slaves.
a leather vest, black in colour worn by the slave girls of the Wagon Peoples.

a ankle length, soft woolen dress worn by bond-maids of Trovaldsland.  It ties beneath her breasts and is split to the belly.  Often the only garment that bond-maid wear.
a strip of fabric worn as a headband, red in colour that is worn by slave girls of the Wagon Peoples.

is used to restrict a slave's movements, made of various types of ropes, fibre or chains.  Often the ropes will be entwined by wires that will prevent them from being shreeded or chewed.
a device that keeps a slave girl's legs spread open while she is being sexually used.  It is used also on male slaves as a form of humilation.  Very popular amongst the Red Savages of the Barrens.
a set of bells that are vertically linked at five places with metal fastenings.  Each ring contains five bells, each ring contains a hinge with a bolt and lock.  The bolts fit with the locks which are closed by four tiny snaps, each ring links to the other and fits snuggly.
is a holding cell of sorts for the capture of Free Women that are awaiting collars or brandings.  Most of the captives are from military occupations of a city.
furs that are of the pelts often of a larl that a Master will throw to the floor for the usage of a slave girl sexually.

a tube that is affixed to a slave's collar, it is attached by a small thong and capped containing messages for the slave to transport.

strands of chains that are worn about the neck of a slave girl.  Often worn by dancing slaves.
a tiny gold ring that is affixed to the nose of a slave, it is worn through a hole placed through the girls septum.  Amongst the Wagon Peoples all females slave or Free wear rings through their noses, as well as the animals of the Wagon Peoples.

Pleasure Silks
This device is two forms.  The first being flat with bedding and adjustable straps, these straps criscross and are secured by eyelets and studs to a net rack.  The second is a study frame made of wood that is covered with a mesh like webbing of ropes and cords that are used to secure a female or Free Woman for sexual use or display.
a form of silk that is sheer and clingy, with a disrobing loop on the left shoulder worn by slave girls.  It wraps about a slave similar to a pareau.

male slaves are brought to the Tatrix of Tharna in a yoke of silver.  This yoke alone is of enough value to be a randsom of a Ubar and presumably to show the citizens of Tharna the contempt for riches.
chains that are arranged to show the display of a slave, it does not confine the slave.  It consists of a collar that about five feet of chain is attached, the chain attaches part way down to a set of bracelets and further to a set of manacles.
a wicker basket that is strapped to a tarn used to transport slaves.
glass beads that are often coloured and given to slaves at the whim of a Master.
tiny bells that give a subtle sound.  They are threaded by a dozen throng or chains and tied around a slave's ankle or wrist, sometimes it can be attached to her collar.  These bells are worn or even removed at the whim of a Master.
a thin cotton like blanket that is woven from the fibres of the Rep plant to protect a slave from the cold.
a small square iron box, used as a punishment for slaves.  It has a veiwing area of about seven inches by one half an inch in the middle and only a slot to pass items through.
a small box made of iron that is used to transport slaves.
manacles of various types that are used as restraints to slaves.  They are attached to the wrists.
a small wooden cage that has bars on it, used to confine slaves that are bound  The gate of the cage is of wood with no lock only a cord to secure it shut.
slaves are submerged into this liquid after being debarked of a ship to avoid any parasites.  Often port cities require such of any slaves brought in.
these are belts that are tied around the waist to accent a firgure.  They often are used to bind a girl and it is said that only a Man truely knows how to tie it.
a device that is used to control slaves.  It is much like a cattle prod that emits sparks of electricity.
a garment or harness.
a chain that is secured to an ankle and the opposite wrist.  It consists of a wrist and ankle ring and about seven feet of chain, when a slave knees it does not hinder nor is it uncomfortable.
a hood made of leather that often contains a gag.  It covers the slave's head with no openings for the eyes, nose or mouth.
a small room that a slave is placed in at night, it has a hinged door and is usually only three foot by three foot by four foot.
a short dress that has a slit down the front and secured with a cord.  It is worn highon the thighs and may come in a varity of styles and materials.
a type of cage at depots that the Free may rent to place a slave in while they are moving about.  This cage allows the Free to deposit a coin and in return a key is given to the Free which is pocketed until they return.  This type of cage or locker is seldom guarded.
a mat that is course and made of straw which a slave is ordered onto for use or dicipline.  The slave remains there until allowed to leave.
a chain that consists of a hinged loop made of iron that locks around the slave's waist with two wrist rings that slide and a welded ring at the back of the slave.
perfumes that are for slaves to wear, they are designed to be heavier and more sensual than those that a Free Woman would wear.
a cloth that is drawn tightly between a slave girls legs, it is used to bind and conceal the loin of a slave and tightened about the waist to emphasis it.
a iron ring that is about a inch in diameter, it is heavy in weight and often attached to the flooring or a Master's sleeping couch.  The slave is secured to this for reasons of punishment or security.
this is made of leather or a heavy canvas, often fastened by cords, laces, locks or straps.  Once a slave is placed in this sack the slave becomes unaware of her whereabouts and helpless.  Often strong enough to hold a Male.  This sack is also known as a body hood.
a piece of cut wood that is about four and a half inches in length and four inches in width.  The top about two inches from the tip is a two inch groove cut into the wood, a long tether made from leather is attached and placed over a slave's neck to secure the slave.
this is a term used for slaves meaning collars, chains or similar.
this is a heavy strap or belt that buckles behind the back.  The front consists of a metal plate with a ring welded to it that has a chain of about four inches that passes through it to a pair of bracelets. This design is to keep the wearer's hands secured in the front.
a trap of strong steel that contains sharp metal teeth that will snap closed about the leg of a slave and can not be opened without a key.
This consists of a cylindrical, truncated cushion made usually of cork or leather.  This tube is inserted into a centre hole that prevents a slave from biting the tube.  The tube moves to the stomach of a slave and liquid may be force feed, solid food such a gruel can be used if a special plunger is applied.  This procedure is not very pleasant.
a simple, sleeveless tunic that pulls over and made of brown cloth.  It contains slits at the hips and narrow shoulder straps.  Often they can contain a disroping strap at the shoulder.
a small triangle of yellow silk that is worn across the bridge of a slave's nose.  It conceals nothing and often arouses the lust of a Master and worn often with a chalwar.
a large flat bedded wagon that is more of a cage so that numerous slave may be transported.  It contains a barred door at the rear with a bar that runs down the center of the wagon so that the slaves may be chained to it by the ankle.  Tarps often are used in covering the wagon to hide its contents.
it is used in issuing comands to slaves.
it is a netting of interwoven metal that is razor sharp, the strands sway and have an inch space between.  It is used as a sort of fencing that can cut a slave's flesh to pieces.
a cage that is roomy and ornately decorated with numerous fabric, perfumes and jewels to name a few items.  This cage is where a new naked slave is housed to awaken her senses to become more pleasing to Masters.  This room is also to low for the slave to stand erect so the slave's head will always be in the position of submission.
a mat that a slave girl will knee to submit.

sometimes used by Slavers that is reddish in colour, a powder that is mixed with red wine and will render the victim unconcious.
a short sleeveless tunic, often refered to as the slave rag.  It is pulled tightly between the slaves legs and used to accentuate the loin of a slave.
they are of less value than other bells and my be secured in a variety of ways.  Often to the slave's neck, thigh, wrist or ankles or even the upper arm.
a tunic of white cloth that male slaves of Trovaldland wear, it is made of wool.
these are secured to the thumbs of a slave together, often thought to be less affective then bracelets.  They are used in the supervision of others as a slave may harm herself if hysterical when placed in these.
W
Walking Chains



Work Sirik
Chains that tether the ankles and can be adjusted from as little as two inches to as much as twenty. The stride of a slave is often thought beautiful and this primairly is used in the Tahari.
Similar to the sirik but this allows the wrist about a yard of chain enabling work to be done.
Back
