Coinage
Gorean coins are made by hand.  This is done by warming and softening the metal, then placing it between two engraving molds, the mold is then struck on top by a hammer allowing the design to be impressed on both sides of the coin.  The technique of handmaking coins allows each Gorean city to have a unique identity, they are not designed to be stacked or rolled, each are design is intricately and more deeply sculptured than the Earth coins.

Gorean coins are on average  1 1/2 inches in diameter and approximately three-eighths of an inch in thickness.  The design of each coin varies from city to city in which they are produced.  Typically the coin will bear a symoble of a creature such as tarn or tarsk, indicating the type of coin it represents, for example a tarn disk will have the image of a tarn.  The opposite side of the coin will bear the symbol of the city the coin was originated.
Stater
Gold Stater
Is used in the city of  Brundisium and perhaps elsewhere.  It is of good weight and excellant quality, is thought to be of a higher value than that of the traditional Gold tran disk.
Silver Stater
Is used in the cities of Brundisium and Argentum.  It is basically equivalent to the value of the Gorean silver Tarsk disk.

Tarn Disk
Copper Tarn Disk
Common in Most Gorean cities, although Ar moved forward to the standardization of all Gorean coins. The copper coins are of a slightly higher value than the copper Task disk.
Gold Tarn Disk
The Gold Tarn disk is of higher monetary value depending on the metal inwhich it is minted from.  Many Gorean cities mint their own gold tarn disk, however the Gorean standard is typically that of Ar being higher valued for its consistancy of purity and quality.
Double Weight Gold Tarn Disk
The gold Tarn disk is made at double the thickness and weight of the standard gold Tarn disk.  This is the highest dimonination of coinage in use throughout Gor due to its increased value and weight, otherwise is similar in all aspects to the gold Tarn disk.
Tarsk Disk
Copper Tarsk Bit
The Copper Bit has a value of 1/10 to 1/4 of a Copper Tarsk, depending on the original value of the coin.  The average number of Tarsk bits that make up a Tarsk is eight.  When the Copper Tarsk is minted, it has presegmented marks within it that enables a user to snap the coin into smaller peices thus producing the Tarsk bits.  The terms of two bits or four bits comes from this determining the value of the coin.
Copper Tarsk Disk
The Copper Tarsk disk is of the least value of the Gorean monetary system.  It equals to ten Tarsk bits however tends to be more closer to eight, as the Copper Tarsks of Ar are minted to be sperated into eight pieces.
Silver Tarsk Disk
The Silver Tarsk disk is the primary coin used in the Gorean monetary system, valuing to 100 Copper Tarsks.  The Silver Tarsk is likely to be the single most used coin in the Gorean monetary system.
Other forms of monetary values
Gem stones
In addition to the coins used for monetary trading there is much demand for the mining, cutting and polishing of percious and semi prescious gem stones upon Gor.  The value of each gem stone is depending on the rarity and quality of each gem.  The value may also depend upon the setting of the gems in jewlery.
Monetary Drafts
The Caste of Money Lenders oversee all transactions concerning the usage of monetary drafts or promisary notes that Goreans often make use of.  The paper transactions may be cashed at the various banking institutions located within the Street of Coins.  The Street of Coin is the area within Gorean cities that such financial transactions may take place.
