Diseases
      Bazi Plague

A deadly, rapidly spreading disease with no known cure.  Its symptoms include boil like whelps which appear all over the body, jaundicing of the whites of the eyes.  Also called pox, it is believed to be transmitted by little mite like insects.  Survivors of this transport immunity to their offspring.  Slaves with diagnosis of this are usually extreminated as a method of containing the disease.

Dar Kosis

An incurable wasting disease, also known as  the "Sacred Affliction", so named because it is regarded as being devine to the Priest-Kings and those who are plagued are considered as spiritual to the Priest-Kings.  The malady is highly spreadable, and those who are afflicted from it are required to wear yellow robes, constantly sounding a wooden clacker to alert their approach.

Gieron

An allergen which causing jaundice of the eyes white perimeters; in combination with sajel, it produces the symptoms of the Bazi plague.

Healing Treatments
Brak Brush

A shrub whose leaves have a cleansing effect when chewed; traditionally branches of it are nailed to house doors during the Waiting Hand to ward off bad luck that may enter the house for the New Year.

Breeding Wine

A sweet beverage which counteracts the effect of slave wine making a slave girl ready for conception; also called second wine.

Capture Scent

Compared to sodium pentothal from Earth, rags soaked with it is held over the mouth and nose or injected iwth needles into the victim.

Frobicain

A sleep inducing injection used during Voyages of Acquisition to knockout a captured barbarian unconscious.

Kanda

A plant which grows in desert areas.  It's roots are highly poisionous, but the leaves can be rolled into strings which are chewed or sucked to produce a coffee like effect.

Sajel

A drug which causes harmless boil like places to open up on the body; in combination with gieron it reproduces the symptoms that are similar to the Bazi plague.

Slave Wine

A black, bitter beverage that acts as a birth control; its effects is instantaneous lasting over a month; if need be can be counteracted with breeding wine.

Stabilization Serums

A series of shots which, slows old age down; an invention of the Priest-Kings approved by them for use by humans; given in four injections.  Cutting down on death and keeping them more productive.

Tassa Powder

A powder usually blended with red wine which anesthesitizes the one partaking of it.

Miscellaneous Information associated with treatments or diseases
Dar-Kosis Pit

A place where those afflicted with Dar-Kosis may voluntarily imprison themselves until their demise.  These dwellings have fundemental shelter and a well.  Once within, the suffer may never leave.  Food and necessities are thrown down from tarnback to help the diseased.

Poison

The use of poison is generally considered not worthy of men.  It goes against the Codes of Warriors.  It is thought of as a weapon of feminine doings.
