Before... you sit down to speak with a representative of the Government, any Agent of the State, or any enforcement authority, always be sure to have adequate representation, witnesses present, and try to obtain a written, verbal and/or video recording, of any and/or all meetings and conversations, whether in person and/or other forms, of communications, (telephone, fax, video conferencing, etc.). In this way you can verify exactly what transpired and who said what, during any interview situation. All too often we've read, seen and heard State Agents use the term, "the suspect lawyered up" - or - "Well, maybe he's innocent... he hasn't asked for a lawyer yet" -and- we think to ourselves, "Why wasn't that the first thing out of that person's mouth ? ". Asking for counsel, witnesses and records of a meeting, interview and/or any or all other forms of conversation, does not mean that you are guilty of anything. It only means that you are aware of, and recognize your rights and freedoms, and are exercising your legal options. |

All too Often... State Agents will use seemingly benign, relatively unpretentious terms like, "We're bringing him in to the station/office, for a little chat", "We just want to interview you", or the ever simple "We just want to ask you a few questions". Before you know it, one thing leads to another, and you find yourself trapped, cornered by their manipulative and well trained techniques, of interrogation. You're not guilty of anything, but they have made you feel you are, and you feel the need to lie, just to save yourself. Then they have you ! You have just made them curious, concerned and/or suspicious of you; that is the first step to a much larger world, of oppression and tyranny. Usually the first thing out of your lawyer's mouth is, "Don't say a word !", followed by the ever popular, "Is my client under arrest ?". The lawyer will instruct his/her client, what he/she should and should not respond to, how to respond and sometimes even respond for his/her client. This is all done to short cut, interrupt and/or disrupt the authorities from provoking a peson from any kind of anxious and unconscious response, (also a very popular technique). |
We've all heard... the common expression, "Keeping the conversation honest". Having witnesses and records of any and/or all meetings, conferences, conversations and interviews, will do precisely that. It will insure that everything, that everyone says and/or does is recorded and documented, to prevent the all too common human frailty of exaggeration -and- misreprentation, when attempting to recall what was said and/or done, later on. Logs, diaries and documentation, of events and/or conversations makes good sense most of the time, but it is especially imparative when dealing with authorities. Agents for the State whether police officers, social workers, school officials, daycare supervisors, etc. are well trained in the art of manipulation and control. Many texts, in the feild of, social work, are filled with information about controlling -and- manipulating the human psychie. It is this training that is all too often involved, when a social worker speaks to children and adults... learn it... know it...teach it to your children... |
SUMMARY : The Boyscout Moto is, " Always be Prepared ! ". That is good advise, for anyone dealing with authorities, no matter what Government Office they may be from. Never permit yourself to be interviewed, spoken with and/or interrogated, by ambush. If someone just shows up, at your door, or calls you on the phone, be sure to avoid any situation that is unprepared and/or unscheduled, in advance. |
